-- Jeff Linkenbach appreciation thread

I think Jeff filled in nicely - he had a few timing penalties - I'm cool with that - since he'd not played snaps for a bit (he can manage those)

But overall a solid B- last week filling in teetering on a normal straight up "B".

I thought this guy was all hype with the unique and catchy sounding name, but now i'm finding he may just be a serviceable back up who will give it his all when his name is called.

Well done Jeff L.!

Yep. He's a serviceable JAG rather then one who sucks.

Uhm.... I've seen worse performances? So there we go. He is better than McGlynn. Which is nice.

Yeah - he blocked well in that earlier game too - for Knile - think it was our first game in Arrowhead after Tn.

The announcer said something like: " And now the Chiefs bring in their beefier package in one Jeff Linkenbach" went on to explain his signing w/ KC etc etc...

It was funny - in fact he may've said 'Meatier' I'm not positive which he'd used.

I'm done on this topic - but I figured he needed a quick shout for doing a fair job when asked. That's all I was getting at.

Plus he's not mentioned much on here.

One last kudos for you Mr. Jeff L. You did well in my book!

Request: Provided Jeff Starts in Pitt....

I'd like you (CP) to address him as 'just Jeff' please.

This is his nickname as long as he starts - Just Jeff. Got it?

LET'S DO THIS SHIT!
Don't get too excited SR.

Linkenbach is a borderline decent four position OL backup. Nothing more. His general competency of last week simply illustrated the gross ineptitude of McGlynn (who's intensity and fire and teamwork I absolutely love, but the skill level is at the real minimum for the NFL - or at least what we've seen in this scheme).

He is not a 70% starter at either guard spot. i.e., he's in the 70th percentile of starting OG's in the league - something that Smith requires of all his offensive linemen to be successful in this offense. We don't need the best OL at each position, we just need each OL to be better than 70% of the rest of the OL in the league.

I think we are on the right track with Fisher and Hudson. I still have hope for Allen, and Stephenson remains a question mark after the PED suspension. He hasn't looked like the guy he was at the end of last season. I don't know if that's conditioning or that the PED's were that effective for him.

However, at this point, the Chiefs need to address, at the very minimum, two offensive line spots in the upcoming 2015 off-season. They need 70%'ers at each spot. Right now they have one guaranteed with Hudson.

I'd like to apologize to Inmen - I don't even know if you're fat - I just am guessing because last census CP held a 89% fat poster count/factor.

Anyhow - two wrongs don't make a right - if this thread bothers you that much - then I'm sorry. I just thought he did well. If you didn't - well okay.

But best of luck to you and have a swell holiday season.

Dude's gonna bauce out. A full week of starter's snaps and group showers with the starting linemen will be all he needs to get the chemistry going and play the totally "meh, it's okay, I guess" game we've needed at LG all year.
