Food and Drink Hillbilly Ham Salad - Page 2

I'd never heard of it and thought it was a joke. A friend told me about it. Apparently it's not uncommon. Kroger even sells a version of it. They call it Kroger Sandwich Spread.

The simple version is:

2 lb. cheap bologna chopped finely
8 oz. sweet pickle relish
2 cups mayo or Miracle Whip
1 hard boiled egg chopped finely

Mix ingredients and enjoy!

Can't stand sweet relish, can't stand mayo. Bologna is kind of gross. If you pan fry it then it becomes edible. I like eggs though.

we had a grinder just fed te stuff in the top, FRESH ham salad was always a treat when I was a kid
yeah, nothing on the market like the stuff grandma used to make

I'm sure it basically tastes like ham salad, which I really like. My issue is cheap ham doesn't cost much more than bologna, so might as well use ham.
