Fired by the Browns per the NFL app.

Sadly, stories like these are the genesis behind yet another Browns hiring cycle. Pettine replaced one-year head coach Rob Chudzinski who replaced two-year head coach Pat Shurmur. Shurmur replaced two-year head coach Eric Mangini.

Cleveland has not had a coach finish his tenure with a winning record since Marty Schottenheimer back in 1988. They have not had a candidate last more than 65 games since Bill Belichick in 1995.

None. Rumor is they are bringing in Ron Wolf as a consultant and Wolfs kid as the GM. The head coach? I have no idea.

Believe it or not, Haslam was not at all responsible for the chud fiasco nor do I think he had much choice when he hired pettine. To no surprise, that dumpster fire situation was started by a Parcells disciple prick

Actually, let me go on because it's too funny not to revisit. If there's a "because Chiefs" I don't even know what the **** the term is for the Browns. It's a pretty credible rumor that the NFL forced Joe Banner on Haslam, and Banner then went out to hire Parcells crony Mike Lombardi. Lombardi pulled the usual Parcells bullshit. He fired Chud so he could go after Josh McDaniels. Haslam made the right call there. From there, he created his own mess.

Rob Chudzinski had the Browns feeling good for once in that franchise's miserable existence. They fired him after one year.

I hate it when nfl.com and other sports writers view the Browns history this way. These Browns are NOT the old Browns. The old Browns are the Baltimore Ravens. The old Browns moved to Baltimore, and years later, a NEW expansion franchise called the Cleveland Browns was started up.

In the "you can't even make this shit up" department, did you know that since 1991 (almost 25 years), there have been only TWO YEARS where the Browns didn't have a GM or coach who wasn't from the Parcells/Bellichick tree (2011-2012 - Pat Shurmur/Tom Heckert)?

Bellichick, Butch Davis, Terry Robiskie, Chris Palmer, Romeo, Mangini, Chud
GMs: Lombardi, Farmer (worked under Pioli)

Cleveland got to keep the history of the Browns though. Just like if the NBA fixed its mistake and put a team back in Seattle, it would have the Sonics history*.

*I think that agreement expired though.
