Most Cursed Sports Town?

Now with KC and Cleveland winning championships, who is now the most cursed sports town?

I think it would be Buffalo. Not only the four superbowl losses in a row but also the 1999 Stanley Cup finals and the skate in the crease game. The other would be Minneapolis. Yes, the Twins won a couple of World Series in the early 90s but since then a lot of heartbreak in football. The Atlanta Falcons playoff game and this years missed chip shot field goal come to mind.

As far as long term history, San Diego, but recent history it's probably Buffalo.

The Bills are by far the most irrelevant team in the NFL. They haven't made the playoffs this century. even Cleveland has done that.

You think going 2 decades without a playoff win is bad? Think about 2 decades without even playing in January? With Brady and Bill in NE a few more years, they will assuredly not make the playoffs due to a zero % chance of winning the division.

Speaking of NE, they are 27-3 vs Buffalo since Brady started, and 1 of those 3 losses was a game that NE played with backups bc they already had their seed wrapped up.

My God. Can you imagine not making the playoffs for 16 straight years and watching the Broncos or Raiders beat you 27/30 times in that streak? Poor poor bastards.

They did, but it's getting to the point where you legitimately have to be over 40 years old to really remember it. That's not quite Cleveland levels but it's not good either. Especially for a city that has all four sports.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think it's just the way they've lost. The Drive, The Fumble, The Shot... they are all the most simple, iconic names ever and they all happened to Cleveland. And that doesn't even include being 2 outs from winning the World Series in 97 and blowing it. I don't think there's another city that's had more last second stomach punch losses.

Yup, my first thoughts. The only thing that comes to mind when I think of dominant college teams Minnesota has had is their wrestling... Minnesota has had some tough, tough wrestling teams since the new millennium...and the majority of people in our country couldn't care less about wrestling...

If the Royals hadn't won the World Series, I'm assuming KC would be in the conversation?????

Minneapolis is easily top 5. Choke jobs. Bad teams. I swear I could hear the stadium groan when the FG went wide left.

The worst part is that if an outsider (non-native minnesotan) criticizes the local teams-you get roasted. If a local does it-its acceptable. I've lived here 15 years-hate the Vikes and still am considered an outsider. Passive aggressive bullshit.

The Lynx are clearly the best team in town.

Maybe because everything in Buffalo is cheap as hell and you can finger a chicks ass at the Bills game?
