Taking a family vacation to Maui at the end of July. Anyone have any suggestions on must sees/do’s?

Did you stop at all the cool shit on the way to Hana? The last time we drove it we stopped at every suggested place and hiked to all the waterfalls and scenic lookouts. By the time we reached the 7 pools we were exhausted. We ended up driving the last hour back to Kaanapali beach in the dark. We had an awesome time though.

How long are you going for? Definitely take 1 or 2 days to just relax on a beach. I find doing something every single day can be exhausting.

Find the biggest Polynesian you can and befriend him. Call him a "Mahu" so he knows you're serious about it.

Srsly though, find out when the live music at the Kaanapali Dukes is and have a drink while watching the sunset. Sometimes you can see a green flash as it descends over the horizon. Its kind of epic and understated.

Maui Memorial Medical Center is a must see.

Don't do anything stupid as you really don't want to go there.

Ask around for good pipikaula (pee pee cow la). You may even just end up getting some at a Tamura’s. Lots of folks like Tamura’s poke as well, plus it is a good place to stock up on drinks.

Down the Hatch is a pretty cool bar w/very good food in Lahaina --- and as mentioned --- check out the Banyan tree

Here are some of the things Mrs, 2bike and I like.

The Bicycle ride down Haleakala- you get up there before the sun come up and watch the sunrise. Then ride the bike from 10,000 feet down to sea level.

Massage at the school of massage in Makawao. Get a 1 hour massage for $30 Then dinner at the Haliimaile General Store. Be sure and get the Pinapple Upside cake for dessert.

Zipline at Piiholo Ranch

Eat at Flatbread Pizza Company in Paia try the Mopsy. The kids at Piiholo ranch were bagging on the mainland for what we call Hawaiian Pizza. They love the Mopsy. We ran into Owen Wilson at FlatBread he was a pretty decent guy. My wife saw him again the next day up in Makawao when we went for a massage and he remembered her name so she was impressed to say the least.

The Gazebo offers a good breakfast but get there early and prepare to wait. Its not very big but very popular.

We have been on several snorkling and diving trips no real favorites. I have never had a bad trip. If you are a diver the back side of Molekini offers some fantastic dives.

Lapperts Ice Cream is pretty good we always have to go there to satisfy the wife's sweet tooth.
