Chiefs’ RB Kareem Hunt Earns AFC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Kansas City Chiefs’ tailback and Cleveland-area native Kareem Hunt put together a homecoming to remember in the Chiefs’ victory over the Cleveland Browns last weekend, and it earned the second-year running back some hardware.

Hunt was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday morning after tallying 141 total yards and three touchdowns on Sunday. It was Hunt’s third-career game with three or more touchdowns.

The performance was just a continuation of Hunt’s impressive play of late, which includes 368 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns in his last three games alone. Overall, Hunt ranks third in the NFL in rushing yards (683) and fourth in total offensive yards (995) while his streak of eight-straight games with a touchdown is the longest for a Chief since 2014.


This marks the first time that Hunt has won Offensive Player of the Week honors in his career and a third time this season that a member of the Chiefs has taken home the award. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes earned the distinction in both Week 1 and 2.

Hunt, Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs will be back on the field this Sunday as the Chiefs take on the Arizona Cardinals at Arrowhead Stadium. Click here for tickets.

Hunt is luxury to have, but when it comes time, I wouldn't pay him huge money because of the position he plays, unless it's at a discount.

RB's are a dime a dozen these days. Especially when this team now focuses around Mahomes and the passing game.

I agree on most running backs,and I wouldn't break the bank on him but he damn sure isn't most running backs .stevie wonder could see he's special.i can't remember shit anymore but he's to the chiefs what the running back the rams had that they got from the colts ?during the Dickie V years . Just an outstanding sob carrying or catching the ball out of the back field. He's way more than a luxury , and his kind aren't a dime a dozen.
