It's really not, though, that's not what racism means. If someone said of a white guy "I'm not sure if he's wearing a wig, a dead dog, or if his barber just hates him", it would also not be racist. Insulting a hairstyle has zero to do with racism, even if the person being insulted happens to be of a different race.

You could also say someone is so white they look like their skin was slathered on from a jar of mayonnaise. Similarly crude, douschy, and moronic, still not racist, just an insult, and a lame one at that.

An actual racist statement would refer to how someone is deficient, and then why that is related to someone's race. For example, if we merge the statements together, we can make something legitimately racist.

Here in this total hack job which isn't at all what he said, there would be a statement that because of his race, he is in some way deficient. It's not enough to allude to someone's race, and it's not enough to say someone is deficient who happens to be of a different race. Racism is when you combine those things and say that because of their race, they are deficient. I know that's not how the term is used by modern media, but that's what it actually means.

That's accurate. Words have meanings.

Saying someone is "black as coal" isn't racist. It's douchey, in bad taste and not recommended...but by definition, it is not racist.

It’s in the previous sentence. I know it’s tenuous but the author certainly does say Hill is unimposing because he’s small and black.

Again, I’m normally one that thinks crying racist is over-used. This is definitely racist, though.

This is a fair point. I tend to think the part which is the reason for being unimposing is the small part vs the other, but that might be me putting my own world view on his words. Regardless, fair point.
