Is it Darwin Thompson time?

With Damien Williams (knee) and LeSean McCoy (ankle) banged up, do you guys think this week could be Thompson's opportunity to go off? I think it'd be awesome to see the kid come in and have a big game.

I guess I'm less cheery about it than others. I think our running game is good enough. I don't think it's great by any means. Our RBs have been downright lethal in space and in the passing game. Shady looked good against the jags. Damien hasn't really looked great as a pure runner in either game.

I wonder if we're kind of like the old School patriots where the screen game basically becomes our running game.

Depends on if his pass blocking has improved. With Mahomes a little limpy, we need to make sure whoever is out there can and will protect him. Like when Shady took the holding penalty yesterday, because he was making sure Pat didn’t get hit.

He's definitely going to get more than his 1 snap ritual. I'm extremely excited because frankly I think he's a better rusher than the guys ahead of him on the depth chart.

He's literally bigger and stronger than Phillip Lindsey that's a reeruned ass thing to say. Go watch his tape, just like Reek he does not play like his size.

And he runs similarly to all of them except Barry.

Good vision
Tremendous balance
Difference making drive
Great acceleration
Very strong

It’s a long shot to think he will be as good as them, but in college and pS the styles are very similar.

He ranked fourth in forced missed tackles per touch (0.349) and second in yards after contact per touch (6.91) among the 210 FBS backs with 100 or more touches on the year. Though limited to just 151 carries this past season, Thompson ranked eighth in forced missed tackles per rush (0.318) and sixth in yards after contact per rush (5.07). His ability to make defenders miss in the open field and remain upright through contact is among the best entering this year’s draft

I hope we do play him so I can show my face in some fantasy football forums that I had to leave in shame after the full-on Darwin Campaign I ran all preseason.
