Chiefs are adding DeAndre Washington to active roster

The Chiefs are promoting practice squad RB DeAndre Washington to their active roster. He had a solid training camp and now gets the chance to possibly play again in games next to his college teammate @PatrickMahomes.

I bet Reid was watching tape of that drive killing pass that Williams dropped thinking he needed another back that can give him what CEH and Damien do as a receiver.

Washington is a MUCH better receiver than Williams and Thompson.

When we signed Washington I was excited bc I thought he could give us a RB similar to Damien Williams.

I think Andy can use him very similarly.

I know many are down on Thompson after the fumble, but at least he’s had a couple of decent runs sprinkled in. Darrell Williams does nothing, other than provide adequate blocking at times. He looks like he’s stuck in the mud over the first 4 games. I know he’s been battling injuries.

Excited for Washington. He should bring fresh legs and a mountain of energy against his former team.

Given the way he’s played, I would like to know what the coaches saw in him at all to keep him on the roster as long as he has been. For as small as he is, there doesn’t seem to be any area where he excels enough to compensate for that. I think he jumped over a tackler once last year to convert a fourth down or something, but that’s it.

Thompson also messed up the coverage on Ravens kick return touchdown.

Thank god. He is far and away the second best RB on the roster.

I’m actually shocked how horrible Williams has been and Thompson is a complete waste of oxygen. Hopefully Washington gets the touches behind CEH going forward. No reason to keep giving them to the other two guys.

It's been evident we miss Damien's speed. I loved that guy because he was also great 3rd and short despite his size. I think Andy will stick with Williams there.
