I did a thing and bought my first truck

As the title says, I bought my first truck ever yesterday. I've always had cars due to cost, fuel economy, etc etc and I've always wanted a truck but they can be GD expensive. I had been looking for a while and finally just bit the bullet and went for it.

2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn

Anyways, I don't have a lot of friends to share it with and stuff so I figured I would share it here.

Slick! Good for you!

I have a lowered 93 s10 work truck.

Love it! Should've bought one 15 years ago.

Nice.

Prior to moving back to the farm I was exclusively cars. Mostly because the pickups we had growing up were straight garbage, and I wanted no part of that.

These days I couldn't go without one. Maybe, just maybe, I could do with a tahoe or something if I wasn't farming, but I'd have to have a good trailer.

Regardless of all that, you won't regret it (after you get it paid off LOL).

You forgot the bull nuts hooked up to the trailer receiver. That's a certain sign it will never pull anything.

Got a '20 Ram Limited and I love that thing. Mine has the Ramboxes on it and holy cow those things have come in handy. The '19 is a little harder to find w/ the hybrid setup on it because they were a really expensive option in '19 as opposed to damn near free in '20. All it really does is make the auto stop/start feature essentially seamless. I've always turned it off but I leave it on in the pickup because you really never notice it's there.

Favorite vehicle I've ever owned by far. Traded an F-150 for it and man I'll never own another Ford. This thing has it beat in spades.

Good get, sir.

That motor just has a different feel to it; almost akin to a freight train.

It actually reminds me a bit of driving my dad's diesel. Just smooth easy power that builds and builds.

Good choice! I’ve never owned a Ram but have considered them in the past. I don’t do a lot of heavy hauling/towing and the gas mileage steered me different a different direction. I currently drive an 18 Lariat but had an Avalanche for 8 years before that. It’s really hard to ever drive a car again after being in a truck. You’re gonna love it!

Side note: I actually think the Sierra is the best looking truck on the road. I’ve been eyeing the 22’s coming out in the spring with the refreshed interior. The 3.0 Duramax looks appealing but I’ve never had a diesel. Anyone have any experience with the newer GMC Diesel engine?

I agree.

But unless/until GM finally figures out that maybe they oughta spend a few dollars on an interior that isn't all hard-touch plastics and parts-bin recycling, I won't buy one (though in fairness, at this point I'd have to have a real bad Ram experience to switch - they really won me over with this truck).

GM hasn't put a decent interior in a vehicle in 30 years.

But the GM exterior takes everything sharp about the Chevy's and puts a legitimately excellent nose on it. They're beautiful pickups. But I spend most of my time around my truck looking at the inside of it, not the outside. So for me it's all about interiors. And man oh man, the interior of these new Rams is just tits. It's a Mercedes with a bed on it in there.
