This would actually make a lot of sense too.

If they figured out something like that then it could explain the drastic shift in play between halves.
The pre-snap tell was that every RPO that was called was a pass 99% of the time. There was no reason to defend the run or option as it was almost always a pass.

He’s 100% right

We absolutely got cocky and I definitely think we got into a “we’re the Chiefs we’re gonna pass on you because we’re the chiefs no matter what” mode and it ****ed us

We're in like year 4-5 of the Mahomes offense. They're the most studied offense in the league these last few years. Most teams have recycled offensive staffs every 3-4 years from firings or hirings, w/e.

EB and our staff's stuff is about 1-2 years past its expiration date and it really showed this season.

It's why we've been pressing the "Fresh new minds, let EB go" stuff recently. Because they need some new-new to keep teams on their toes.

We can't seriously expect to run the same system for 4-5 years and NFL teams not catch on and learn how to defend us. It's just not how the NFL works.

No new information here. We are a cocky team and it's starts with the coaching staff, I'm sure.

Does anyone remember when Reid first came here, there was a report that Reid met with the team and said something to the effect of "Get ready because we're going to score a lot of points"?

Mahomes and Hill are pretty cocky as well.

I’ll never understand why we stopped feeding McKinnon the ball. That defense was in no way prepared for that wrinkle in our offense and Andy kept removing what was working and forcing what wasn’t in the second half. It bothers me because it’s the element teams couldn’t prepare for because there was no tape to study tendencies on. We were cashing them with it.

IMO we win by multiple scores of McKinnon had double the touches on offense.

It kinda pisses me off to hear the opposing defense knew what was coming and we kept forcing it instead of doing what was very effective.

The game doesn't go to OT if Mahomes completes one of two wide open passes in the red zone. They were unforced errors, not fantastic D.

Considering how successful the Chiefs have been on offense with Mahomes they are justified in being "cocky" (and even in this game they were toying with Cincy's defense for almost the entire first half).

The problem is the Chiefs seem to have no Plan B or struggle to make adjustments on offense, especially in-game.

This is why a stronger/more capable offensive coordinator is needed to support Andy Reid and this offense.
