Sports betting legal in Kansas

Quote:
TOPEKA, Kan. (KCTV) - Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has signed S.B. 84, which authorizes sports betting in the state.

“State officials and others say it’s not clear yet how soon the wagering could begin,” according to the Associated Press.

The bill that the governor signed today “dedicates most of the the state’s share of revenues from the new gambling to efforts to lure the Kansas City Chiefs from Missouri to the Kansas side of the metropolitan,” the AP continues.

“The new law will allow people in the state to use cellphone or computer apps to bet on sporting events and to place bets at state-owned casinos or up to 50 other locations chosen by each casino,” the AP adds.

Same here. I love Hollywood but they'll need to have a good book or I'm headed to Harrah's or something.

Pretty sure that at least part of the former buffet area (closed since covid) is getting renovated.

I would temper your expectations on physical books in Kansas casinos. The real money is in mobile betting, don’t expect them to invest too much in a physical book.

DraftKings has the biggest handle in Iowa and doesn’t even have a physical book.

Guy on 610 said Hollywood is Penn Gaming so it will be a Barstool sports book. Don’t know what they have for physical books in other states if any.

This.
For most casinos that have them, the floor space devoted to the sports book is the least profitable floor space in the building.

I certainly don't think the physical sports books are going to be the Westgate or anything. Maybe a somewhat smaller version of what the have going on in say a Biloxi or something like that. A couple of betting windows and a seating area for like 20 people or so? I don't really care because I won't be actually watching games there. It will, however, be nice to be able to collect the same day or whenever I want to.

You can collect same day from the apps too. I’ve had PayPal payouts hit my account in ~ 10 minutes.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Officials from casinos in Kansas are excited after Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly signed a bill into law making sports wagering legal in the state.

Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway is one of four casinos in the state of Kansas that will have a dedicated sports book.

Regulation around it is still being drafted but the design process is well underway.

"It'll be a wonderful full sit down restaurant, enormous bar in the center, plenty of betting kiosks," Rick Skinner, VP and General Manager of Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway said.

Sports betting has recently become legal in Kansas, providing sports fans with a new way to engage with their favorite teams and events. By allowing sports betting, Kansas is joining a growing number of states that have recognized the potential for this industry to create jobs, boost the economy, and generate new tax revenues.

One popular type of sports bet is the multi-bet, which allows players to combine multiple bets into one wager. Multi-bets can be a great way to increase the potential payout and add an extra layer of excitement to sports betting. To help sports fans get started with building multi-bets, they can use resources such as RS1, which provides a platform for sports betting information and advice.

To place sports bets in Kansas, residents can use licensed and regulated sports betting platforms such as Lottabet. These platforms provide a secure and convenient way to place bets on a variety of sports and events, offering a wide range of betting options and up-to-date information on odds and results.
