I just hope we don't take the Cheif's success for granite because this won't last forever... men of great statue such as Reid, Mahomes, BV don't come around very often and are unparalyzed in there profession. I'm putrified to think how the next GM's draft will go, the Cheif's could easily fade back into bolivian. When they all retire, I'll probably take to drinking so much, I'll get sea roaches of the liver and chicken pops. I quit drinking cold duck at the beginning of covid and would hate to start back up...my old lady quit when she started mental pause and would probably start running around on me, which sux because we've been monotonous for two decades.

Very topical! Hogwarts Legacy just came out recently. Trying to jam in pop culture references is generally a recipe for writing disaster but homie might have pulled it off here. Hats off to him.

Also, I don't think you need to discuss Andy Reid's son that died of an OD when discussing the Chiefs, or Brit Reid even. These are grown men that are responsible for their own decisions independent of Andy, and I don't think a full accounting of Andy requires a deep dive into the lives of his adult children. Yet the author can't help himself:

Reid was a great regular season coach in KC until Mahomes arrived. Our playoff record was 1-4 prior to 2018 under Reid, including blown leads to the Colts/Titans and that weird game against the Steelers where the Chiefs scored two TDs to Pittsburgh's zero, and still lost.

We're lucky to have Reid, but without Mahomes, we'd still be an irrelevant franchise that can't win big games.
