I am so sick of WRs who aren't even 6' tall.
Not every short receiver can be Edelman, or Welker, or even a Tyler Lockett. Unless the player has something special about them, why draft a short receiver? Like, at least Rice is 6' I know, receivers that size are good across the league. It's just want to see Mahomes with a good tall receiver. NO, MVS IS NOT A GOOD RECEIVER. Receivers like: Tee Higgins Mike Williams Courtland Sutton DK Metcalf 2 SB wins, and 3 appearances in the last 4 years really eases the sting of knowing that we absolutely could have drafted Higgins or Metcalf. Again, I know there is more to being a receiver than being tall, but I have had enough of having a bunch of small receivers. |

Nobody really knows who will or won't succeed in the NFL. Puka Nacua, Brock Purdy, Jonny Manziel, and Bryce Young are examples of that. So, if you are going to take a chance, why not take a chance on a tall, fast receiver. Maybe we actually draft our own Higgins or Metcalf. Unless the small receiver is very, very fast, or has some other elite trait, I would just always choose size. Like, yeah, draft Justin Jefferson or Chase if they are there, but again, they were elite in college, and had elite traits. Skyy Moore didn't have a single elite trait (other than hand size, I guess) AND played against low level college athletes most of the time. My reasoning is that Mahomes is the best QB ever, to my eyes, but he can go into God Mode with an elite WR. It would be great if we could have that elite WR for 5 cheap years, instead of signing a big FA. And, look, Rice looks great, but right now any competent receiver would look good. Being a WR1 by default doesn't make you a WR1. I am not saying he won't progress and become a legit WR1, but I am not ready to say or think he is on the level of a Jefferson, Hill, or this year Lamb. |
