Let's talk about the Browns

Hopefully Jameis Winston is in the giving mood. I mean giving the ball to our defense.

Not so sure he's gonna be on the roster next week.

He had himself a bit of a moment last week. Kinda lost his shit.

Didn't get to watch it but saw a headline form Goldman or someone about how he ****ed up the potential game winning drive IIRC.

Oh that's overstating it a bit. Thy were down 27-14 late in the game when he muffed a punt.

The funny part was that he muffed that punt his first time back on the field after getting a taunting penalty for tossing the ball at a defender after a fair catch.

Yeah, that's right. He fair caught a ball and then mouthed at the guy near him and tossed the ball at him for a 15 yard penalty.

The guy he tossed the ball at? He recovered the muffed punt.

Toney gonna Toney, fellas.

So much talent - dumb as a hammer.

Ouch. Sometimes I still wonder what could have been if he even had a Jr. High level of football knowledge.

A slow, ugly, unentertaining and likely forgettable slog of a football game.
One thing we have going for us is spags is going to give jameis some really confusing looks. And jameis is easily fooled because he's just going to chuck it no matter what. It might actually play somewhat to our strengths to be bend don't break knowing that with more and more passing volume he's prone to make even more mistakes.

It might play somewhat to our advantage that jameis doesn't really need pressure to make mistakes. We just need to confuse the hell out of him and he'll hit some aggressive throws but I'd expect hes going to make mistakes. Especially when he won't have a running game to lean on given our strengths

After the recent interviews and Mic'd ups I'm not sure Jameis is ever confused or if he even knows what planet he's on. I think he just back there like wow 19 offered me half of his muffin at breakfast I'm going to throw him the ball as a thank you.

This is true for sure. Every week I watch RedZone and it's frustrating watching other QBs have so much success with just giving their guys a shot, especially all the cheap DPIs that they draw, which we're not even giving ourselves a chance to get.

Right now I'd bet Veach goes right back to the WR well early in the draft. I doubt any LT is gonna be there. And I'm all for it. Fk DL and DBs honestly, as much as we need reinforcements there.

Yeah, I'm geared up for a slog, BUT if the Chiefs CAN get some early Jameis Winston turnovers, that could actually set up a more comfortable game for once.

I know we talk about it here, but I think that's one of the things that doesn't get discussed nationally much. When you look at how the Bills or Lions blow teams out, for example, it isn't just out-executing on offense and being unstoppable there and getting defensive stops.

Their blow-outs generally involve setting up some short fields with turnovers or just gaining extra possessions for their offenses.

Even at its best, Spagnuolo's defense does not generate a TON of turnovers. I don't know if it's the way they coach the DBs, the fact the DL tends to be a unit that doesn't focus on quick wins/instant pressure, or what. But it's a consistent trait.

They don't really gamble. Part of what goes into getting TOs is being aggressive about it. The Chiefs just aren't. They play to prevent the big play, for the most part.

We were headed there last night. 13-0 coming out of half. Got a quick stop and 3 and out. They score 3 and out. We had it going our direction if the offense can avoid quick 3 and outs.

Well the problem right now is that it used to be that we didn't get a lot of turnovers because we were playing a lot of man coverages that are difficult to generate interceptions with.

We aren't even doing those as much anymore it doesn't feel like and we STILL can't turn the ball over.

The lack of turnovers really puts a limit on what this team can do. Especially when they are so deliberate offensively now.

You're looking at 8-10 drives most games. Max. We had, what, 3 possessions in the 2nd half?

That said, none of that explains giving up 14 unanswered right after you FINALLY put together a solid drive to take a 13-0 lead. And they did it against the Raiders as well - got a two score lead, immediately shit the bed.

We keep trying to come up with answers and it just doesn't appear there are any. The Chiefs didn't need to blow out the Chargers or the Raiders or anyone else. They just need to stop this shit where they take a nap as soon as they start to generate momentum. You don't have to turn the ball over to prevent that.

I'm more worried about Jeudy than anybody. That cat can play. He plays like he has something to prove. Fortunately, we have McDuffie and that should keep Jeudy from big plays.
