![]() He was as dynamic as QB play had ever been in his prime, backyard hero ball that actually won more often than not... theres a good reason why both Reid and Veach directly comp'd Mahomes to him after the 2017 draft |

A Raiders fan pointed out to me that the Chiefs before Hill left were built like an Al vertical offense. Bombs away with a strong arm QB. He wasn't wrong. That is why we drafted Ruggs. ![]()

It was pretty well known around Green Bay what a d-bag Favre was. He used to hit the bar scene hard in his younger days and was a known prick to everyone, and slept with anything with a pulse.
That said, I don't think that's much different from most professional athletes, especially back then. You can't tell me Troy Aikman was some kind of choir boy back in those days. Privileged athletes could get away with almost anything in the 80s and 90s, and they took full advantage of it. Seems like a cheap hit piece on the guy, but I certainly won't shed any tears for him. |

God almighty was Troy Aikman an idiot. I mean he still is an idiot, but it wasn't the hits that did that to him. That dude's just very stupid. I think he was haughty more than mean-spirited, though. It's sort of a distinction without a difference when you get down to it, but it's something. It is sorta interesting how some of these guys who struggle to rub a couple braincells together are able to just see the game differently than most. I don't think Favre was strictly a 'cerebral' quarterback by any stretch, but there's obviously a difference between someone like him and a guy like Jamies or even Cutler. He was aggressive, sure. Reckless even. But wasn't a stupid quarterback. And a guy like Aikman was very similar. Dumb as a bag of hammers - still understood football better than far smarter guys.

I always wondered why Jerry Glanville hated him so much.

Favre is a giant piece of shit. But I’ve learned that if you don’t separate who players are as people versus what they do to help win games, it would be impossible to be a sports fan.
I don’t regret rooting for tyreek when he was helping us win and if he didn’t become such a worse teammate over time, still would. I was fine with Kareem except where he betrayed the front offices trust. I am ok with rashee coming back except that I hope he’s truly learned his lesson. Where it matters is if their attitude or behavior fractures the locker room or makes them unreliable (either because they stop working hard or because they are a walking distraction/suspension risk). Then you have guys like OJ and Darren sharper who of course crossed a way bigger line. But yes when it comes to who you continue to treat as heroes after they’re done, that’s something different. Favre was hella fun to watch. But I’m good to now call him a total piece of shit |

I saw him play in person a few times and I'm glad I did. Outside of Pat and Brady he's the best I've seen play live. But yeah, he's a giant douche.

Favre loved his Vicodin.

You play 300 straight games under center during that era and tell me YOU wouldn't.
He's just the guy that admitted it. https://packaged-media.redd.it/megw0...92800&c8b20e89 Regan Upshaw gets suspended for that shit today. Back then? Not even a flag -- back in the huddle, go throw a TD. EDIT: Doesn't look like the link worked. Google "Favre Regan Upshaw hit" and it'll find it . Upshaw essentially elbows him in the earhole as he turns his head -- Favre pops up yelling at him then throws a 40 yard touchdown.
