What’s with the upside down lettering on hats

Does anyone know what this silly trend is with people wearing hats that look like manufacturing errors with the lettering upside down? Is it some secret code for same sex couples or something?

Probably in the same light as why people would pay hundreds for pants with holes purposely in them. We are just old and don't get it. But I don't want to get it so that's good with me.

while we're at it.....what's with everyone and their uncle slapping a "be patient, I'm a student driver" bumper sticker on their cars?

The MVA in MD provides them when kids are given their Learner’s Permit. I’ve always just chalked it up to more kids learning to drive.

The thing needs to be a magnet instead of a sticker so it can be removed when the student is no longer driving, but that’s a different topic.

A co worker who’s a cowboys fan always wears his. I just assumed like a ship at sea the upside down flag meant a sign of distress. Checked out for the cowboys so I let it go.

I'd bet our parents said the same thing about our clothing, music choices too as teenagers and young adults.
