Mission #1 - Page 2

...and the planes begin their takeoff roll!

I've only completed the first plane so far, but will do a bunch of them this weekend. Talisman has graciously agreed to assist with portions of the paperwork (pause for round of applause), so either he or I will be posting the other planes as they fly. I expect to finish many of them this weekend.

A note for you gunners:

1. If you "hit" an enemy plane, it means that you caused damage that will affect its attack ability, but not enough to make it break off and leave.

2. If you "damage" an enemy plane, it means that you caused enough damage that the plane will leave as soon as it makes one run at you, but you also severely affected its ability to hit your plane.

3. If you "kill" an enemy plane, it's a confirmed shootdown and you can paint a swastika on your flight jacket.

Ready? The Tequila Rose is cruising toward the first U.S. bombing mission in Occupied France.

And for some reason I thought the 1st mission was supposed to be a milkrun, more or less....

Anyway, that was an interesting beginning--to say the least.

It's the results of a board game that I've been playing for several years. I've been documenting missions, and this offseason we'll all relive them as aircrews.

Yeah, it was a milkrun, but it was one of those "milkman stops by to screw your wife while you're at work" type of runs.

Oh Good Grief, I always wondered what my life would be like if somebody else had control of me ........

Now I get to find out !

When do we fly out ? Do I have time to get air flight insurance ? Maybe I can leave something for my kids that aren't born yet, after all, we are back into the 40 's !

What plane # are you? Kevin will be working them in order. He's going to try to do a few more this weekend. I think it should average out to be about 1 mission per week for each crew.
