****Official Weight Loss and Exercise Thread****

I know that TinyE has the CP Weight Loss Challenge thread, but this is a new beginning for me. No losing weight for prizes, as that motivation ended on July 1st. This time I'm doing it for me. My goal is 75 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race. This time, the prize will be a whole new me.

Anyone else still battling the bulge? Here, hopefully, you can find more encouragement and tips on diet and exercise. Feel free to talk about discouragements, setbacks, frustrations, etc as well. We're here to help...at least I am.

I'd love to get a wii fit.....I think that would be fun. I am a member of 24 hr fitness.....what's weird is that their daycare hours begin at 8:30am. Unless I want to be late to work every day, I can't do that.

yes....I mean, I know it seems like I'm throwing out excuses left and right and I am...but I feel like they're legitimate. If I go at that time, that's the only real husband time I have. I know I need to sacrfice something, just trying to be a good mom and a good wife and a good minister. Which is the other thing....I often have meetings at night that start at 7pm and don't get home til 9:30 or so....so if it's a week when I have a meeting, then volleyball, then youth group, that gives me two weeknights free? It sounds like you could go over lunch if you wanted and do the treadmill/bike/elliptical/stairs for 20 or 30. If you committed to doing that 5 days a week and made some diet improvements you wouldn't believe the change you'd see in a month or two or three. Results in any area of life almost always come in proportion to your commitment.

If you kept this up for 6 months, you'd feel so much better that you'd want to go back and shake yourself for not starting sooner, wouldn't you? Give it a shot.

It looks like maybe your hubby will have to take up some of the slack.

I only get six hours of sleep a night. I spend the evenings with my two kids, then my youngest goes to sleep. My oldest and I go to the gym.

I spend a couple hours with my wife at night and try to be asleep by Midnight. Then, I get up at 6:00am to go do my cardio.

I find that even with less sleep, I am much more energetic and I don't get sleepy after lunch.

Take my post as nothing more than encouragement. I am not trying to bully you into it....

I am also married. I also work in the church. I teach large group in the children's department. I sing in the choir, I do stand up comedy, and I am in the drama department.

It is a lot to juggle.... but you have only one life.... well on this side anyways. I just try to live mine with as few regrets as possible.

I work out at lunch 3x a week. I figure I pretty much always take a lunch so its hard to make excuses time wise.

Me too. I typically go to bed at midnight, and my alarm goes off at 6:00am.

It probably helps that when my alarm rings, I put on my shoes and am out the door starting the run in less than 5 minutes. The morning air, the sunlight, the run itself - those are great at waking you up. And if you're in better shape you sleep better and don't need to laze around for 9 hours, still feeling tired when you wake up.

Yeah, I think this is what I really need to concentrate on the most right now. I figure once my daughter is a year older going to the gym won't be quite as much of a fiasco. (She's def a momma's girl and I feel horrible every time I leave her). But I definitely know if I can start some healthy eating habits it will help her, me and my husband reach the style of living we want to achieve. I concentrate a lot on exercise because I know how good it makes me feel, I know the stress it relieves, and I know I'm a much better person for it.

He definitely needs to take up some of the slack for me, but again, it's hard when you really want to be a very present mom who is also a working mom. I'll work this out, I know I will.

FYI for all of you - I don't take any of your comments as accusatory or harsh....I wouldn't have posted if I didn't think I needed the help or a good kick in the ass!!!!
