*****2023 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2023 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE HUNT FOR THE MIDDLE FINGER RING

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. These separate threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, outside of this thread. I will link the threads below. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #31: Felix Anudike-Uzomah
Round 2, #55: Rashee Rice
Round 3, #92: Wanya Morris
Round 4, #119: Chamarri Conner
Round 5, #166: BJ Thompson
Round 6, #194: Keondre Coburn
Round 7, #250: Nic Jones

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

Lawrence Tynes is up there making the pick. I wonder how Kirstie is doing.

We do. Travis. He's got two rings. Maybe you have heard of him.

Chiefs traded up with the Lions to select SMU WR Rashee Rice with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs gave up picks 63, 122, and 249 to get this pick from Detroit, and also got back 194th overall. Rice will open up behind Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, and Kadarius Toney on the depth chart. A four-year contributor for the Mustangs, Rice (6’1/204) beat up on his group of five competition … except for when he didn’t. Inconsistency is a hallmark of Rice’s film and box scores, though his 96/1,355/10 2022 was by far his best campaign. Big for a receiver by the standards of the modern NFL, Rice is also fast for his size, posting a solid 4.51 40-yard dash but better 10- and 20-yard splits. A dominant jumper with a 41-inch vertical and 10’8’’ broad jump, Rice enters the league with a relative athletic score of 9.53 out of 10.0, putting him in the top 100 of the nearly 3,000 wideouts graded since 1987. Those numbers show up in his ball skills. Also a YAC threat, Rice plays strong. He does need to clean up the finer points of his game, which is always easier said than done at the NFL level. Already 23 and arriving from a non-power five conference, Rice will need to win with size while he works to become a better technician.

Still trust Veach to make the right choices. Wonder if this has any impact on a Hopkins trade?

Hyatt, Tillman, Mims, and maybe even AT Perry would have been better. I didn't expect to hate this pick so much, but this feels like a waste since we traded up for a player that would have probably been there at 63

What's killing Jalin Hyatt is he is a 1 trick pony receiver and with what 1 trick he ran a 4.4 teams all went, this is a homerun hitter that isn't all that fast.
