Marcus Peters traded to Rams

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

Would you agree or disagree? We are not talking about whether or not this was a smart move by the Chiefs.....I am asking if you think he is the best CB in football.
I don't know if I would put him at 1; but he is definitely up there. He's young, he's cheap, he's just entering his prime. He is a CB1 for sure. He definitely hangs with some of the best WRs in football (and there are a lot of good ones). And that's the issue. There are more talented pass catchers at WR, TE and RB in the NFL then there is CBs to cover them. I can tell you he is about 100 tiers better than David Amerson.

But they aren't exactly upgrading are they. No matter who they sign, or draft. There will be some cons (same as Peters). If this defense was able to get a pass rush back then the CBs literally don't matter. The pass rush before everyone turned into a broke dick or overpaid and invisible used to make anyone look good at CB. They currently now don't have that either.

But if they sign a guy that's a tier or two below then it doesn't matter. But they will basically be using the cap space they just opened and that's the part that stinks. Like paying 10-13 million for Kyle Fuller. Good player but yet again back to eating into the cap. They painted themselves in a corner again on cap flexibility for needs they have to address. But if they don't spend, and just draft and develop, then the defense will just be terrible and this is all moot. It all depends on how they address replacing the needs (FA spending, draft, etc)

They got 3 years out of a player they said on draft day they could control, and on field production was a hit on day 1 (which is very rare for a Chiefs draft pick to be that good out of the gate), and now they could have traded him for below market value because they can't handle what they said they could handle. Which is fine, but from a talent perspective they take a huge hit. Maybe from a culture perspective this a huge win. But I watched Fat Scott draft "high character guys" for years and watched them flame out and be terrible. This regime has done the opposite and I guess eventually one of their hits with red flags was going to backfire. It was always too good to be true to hit on that much value that fell in the draft cause of character issues wasn't it. (Kelce, Peters, Hill, etc)

Are you new to following the Chiefs?

This franchise has been mostly a calamity of errors and mis-steps since 1970.

What has this franchise done to give them the benefit of the doubt?

Perhaps you missed the draft last year.

I feel like I started this by citing SAUTO’s source and you’ve just gone ballistic on it since. Can you just please stop already? We know your opinion of that source. If Paylor or Teicher doesn’t back it up, it’s fake news. That’s fine. Most of CP disagrees with you, but just let this one thing go. Move on to discussing the trade rather than the veracity of his source.

On the other hand the Marcus Peters fight with his mom that you are lying about is a supposed past event that took place months ago that should be easy to confirm since it already happened, correct?

Yet why can't anyone credible confirm that it happened except for your "friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend"?

The biggest reason this franchise has been so bad has been the refusal to make the QB position important. Settling for guys other teams gave up on was safer to them than drafting a guy who might fail.

It looks a lot like we ended up with a, or maybe the, better/best prospect we've seen in a few years.

Get the QB right and in today's NFL you can get a hell of a lot wrong. Get the QB wrong and everything else has to go right.

Exactly, Veach ate the Redskins lunch... so to assume he is being snookered here is highly improbable

Fact is almost NO ONE wanted a perennial Pro Bowl corner, and those that did entertain the idea were only willing to do so for relative peanuts... if that doesnt clue the doubters in on just how poorly Peters is regarded around the league, then nothing will

You said he's playing checkers. That's why your balls are being busted. Not because of Eric Fisher.
