We did blow the lead but it was neck and neck. The officials certainly didn't help swallowing the whistles on them and calling touch fouls on us.

we got soft in the second half......a freshman nobody owned us on the defensive boards.

while, as an admitted homer, I tend to look at things the same way.......in this game, we got the benefit of the refs in the first half.....then it switched in the second.

Mason missing two front-ends.....not taking care of the ball and careless turnovers.....and getting limp-di*k soft on the boards....is why we lost this game.

Several joke calls down the stretch that prevented a comeback, but that game was lost at the beginning of the 2nd half. Road refs are always going to make it difficult especially when the opponent makes it that physical.

KU had to be that much better than OSU to compensate for that, though, and they just weren't.

Self said on the pre-game that FT shooting and Rebounding has been his biggest concerns in Conference play....You saw both of them rear their ugly heads in this game.....

FT shooting is a concern for me for the NCAA tourney too. We have too many guys who regularly miss the front end of 1 and 1's.

This team has first weekend exit written all over it. Chances they get out of the 1st or 2nd round are pretty slim.

Self was pretty much done with Cliff right after he terribly failed to close out on Forte's 3 early in the 2nd half. When he came back in, he immediately made another defensive mistake to cost them a basket on a screen and roll and that was that.

Still, with as horrific as Jamari Traylor was this game offensively, I might have just stuck it out with Cliff anyway.

A worse team than this won the whole thing last year. So who really knows? It's the tournament.
