What do you expect? He's from Kansas, of course he's goofy lookin'.
But he's also 6'6'' and has the frame and feet to be a legitimate high-end LT if he can add some weight. I'll go ahead bow out of the thread now, but if KU fans didn't expect a few barbs after Mizzou came in and sniped the #1 recruit in Kansas and a former KU fan, well that just seems odd. I know I'd probably figure on a few shots across the bow had they come in and snagged DGB or even Nick Ramirez.

Of course, yonder stoopfawk would argue that if a Missouri kid chose Kansas, it would of course be a kid Mizzou had no interest in whatsoever. Your cap is a few posts that way.

If he's going to Mizzou, he's the #1 recruit. If he were staying in-state, he'd be an over-rated kid they were never really interested in to start with.

Not trying to add to this, but were there any barbs thrown MU's way when KU got McLemore? I really don't know. |

Well, there is a football player named Jerel Morrow from Emporia HS. If he is not the best talent in this State, then these "evaluators" should find new work. This kid is amazing.

I'm on rivals more than any other recruiting site. Would like to see a comparison.
For the State of Kansas, Class of 2013: 3 3-Star Recruits Ben Johnson, committed to Kansas Clay Rhodes, committed to Missouri Jerel Morrow, offers from Army, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska So, if Nut is right, the Morrow kid is going to Mizzou, because, after all, if they want him, they can just walk right in and grab him, right?

Don't know if Rhodes is THE top guy in Kansas, but he's in the mix.
Morrow is a really impressive athlete - would love to get him to Mizzou, but it sounds like Nebraska is pursuing him pretty heavily as well. I'm sure KU and KSU will be trying, too. What's the word on him from a Kansas perspective. Also, what can anyone tell me about Olathe South's Braden Smith? I understand he's a KU legacy, and it sounds like he's going to be a national level recruit. (Rivals 100 seems like a lock- might even be a five-star). His physical freakiness sounds almost Sheldon Richardson-esque. Does KU have a shot? IMO, if Weis can land Smith, that's a statement similar to Mizzou landing Tony Temple back in the early days of the Pinkel administration.

According to Rivals, yes:
http://rivals.yahoo.com/tulsa/footba...search-results 3* with a 5.6 Rivals rating; Cozart #2 at 5.5. So according to at least one of the major scouting services - yes, Clay Rhodes is presently the highest rated recruit in the state of Kansas. EDIT: I stand corrected, looks like Tanner Wood is ranked ahead of Rhodes at 5.7.
