For what it's worth, I peaced out from the COVID thread because it is EXACTLY what those folks who don't like to post in DC claim every DC thread is.

That thread was a complete shitshow and by about the 10th time I made a suggestion in opposition to the prevailing 'wisdom' and was met with "why are you even here?" i decided to oblige those who had no use for my presence.

Again - this isn't a DC thing. It isn't a DC bleeding into the lounge or media center or anywhere else thing. The folks that couldn't help but post every bit of hyperbolic fear porn they could find are no better/worse than Black Ops hating birds (or denying their existence or whatever).

These are completely independent discussions and the hand-wringing over being 'embarrassed to be associated" with the DC subforum coming from folks who have no problem with "would you masturbate to Andy Reid eating au gratin potatoes" is just laughable.

PS - CP doesn't mean shit to people who don't post on CP. Your internet score isn't going down because of the DC subforum, folks. And if you ever have somebody IRL call you out because you mentioned the place and they come back and say "man, you must be a loser because that DC area is a cesspool" - find yourself less stupid friends.

A few months ago I asked for donations from this place for a rodeo. Didn't get any traction.

Instead of raising money I rode and donated the money

After reading this thread I'm glad I didn't associate a fundraiser with CP. Top down.....cesspool

We all have faults.....I'm first in line.


I came here for ra banter and conversation.

Will I be missed? Hell no.

I know it's the off-season but ****ing goddammit.

Both parties would get much further in persuading each other... because I'm sure as hell never going to say there's NOTHING wrong with DC and I'm never going to convince others that it should go away for good, but there's probably far more common ground than people realize.

So you are going to lay all that above on just DC?

I almost always chuckle when someone says they're embarrassed for something else, it's such a freaking cliché and doesn't mean shit. Chiefs lose in the SB and they're embarrassed to be a fan!!! Uh, what.

DC can be a cesspool without the Lounge being close to perfect though. The Lounge has redeeming qualities... the community and bashes and fundraisers, 10 Things and great football insights, and so forth.

That doesn't mean I'd glowingly send a link to my grandmother so she could read random shitposts, but it also doesn't mean DC isn't significantly worse with no redeeming qualities at all.
