This is ****ing outright BULLSHIT.

No NFL team is giving up a draft pick for a 29 year old running back coming off his second ACL surgery.

You continue to prove that you're a ****ing idiot, Mr. 50/50.

Ummm they drafted 3 ****ing corners, all of whom were great values at their respective spots.

Also, it's pretty ****ing obvious Houston is going to be back earlier than people expect.

If the Chiefs strategy is to go all in and make a run with veteran players, then why not try to make a more aggressive move to sign a veteran free agent to replace Sean Smith?

Phillip Gaines returning from an injury and they drafted three cornerbacks. One of which would have been at least a second round pick if not for a suspension and a broken leg.

Drafted Dee Ford two years ago and Houston will be back. Also signed a couple of fill-in free agents to compete.

Dorsey is from the green bay tree. He's never gonna go all in like a jerry Jones might.

He's always gonna have an eye towards the future

Do you see any of the three corners that the Chiefs drafted immediately stepping in, starting and playing as well as Sean Smith did for the Chiefs last year?

Also there is a difference between Justin Houston being "back" and being back at 100%.

Based on Justin Houston's history, there is a significant drop-off from him playing healthy vs. him playing at not 100 % healthy. See Justin Houston in the infamous Colts playoff game.

Pretty sure they're looking at Gaines as Smiths replacement, yes he has to stay healthy, but he knows the system and flashed everything one could want to see in his limited snaps

But, if he craps the bed somehow we still have Nelson who is presumably going to be better with a year under his belt, and now three new well regarded draft picks to put next to him

As far as a vet free agent, we arent exactly loaded with cap room

what garbage.. if they coveted them as much as you suggest, they would have made sure they got them by moving up for them.

Last year when Gaines had to fill in for Sean Smith during his early season suspension, the Chiefs pass defense was terrible.

In the Patriots playoff game last year when Dee Ford had an opportunity to replace Justin Houston's production he was invisible.

People seem to be putting a lot of faith in two players stepping up when they didn't show an ability to do so last year.

Russell has more talent than Sean Smith. He might not play as well as Smith did last year right off the bat, but long-term he has the ability to be an All-pro cornerback.

Gaines was very good in the first 3 weeks he played, and in 2014 when he got his opportunity. He wasn't filling in for Sean Smith, Flemming was.

You're clearly ****ing clueless.

I'm embarrassed to be a Chiefs/Hurricanes fan on here because of you now.

The Chiefs had a tradable commodity in Jamaal Charles this offseason that would have netted Chiefs draft picks and would have freed up needed salary cap space, yet it seems like the Chiefs never seriously considered aggressively trying to see what type of market was available for Charles.

OMG....didn't he just draft the DROY? Was Peters not "impact" enough for you? He landed Maclin in FA...I guess that didn't impact the team either. Finding Ware and West sucked too...Dorsey is SO shitty...he just signed the best RT in the NFL.

Not to mention a top 10 center in Morse.

Gaines played well the two games he played. He wasn't abused in the Denver game.

How is waiting for a young player to eventually develop into the veteran player you let go in free agency (Sean Smith) compatible with the decision to re-sign Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali?

It is another example of the Chiefs not going all in to try to win now with this current group of veteran players.
