Does Kevin Kietzman deserve to be fired/forced to resign?

Petro wouldn't stay. He's not going to stick around at a station with no access. He actually does his job and he can't do it if they're cut off. He'd go to 610 in a heartbeat. I don't think he'd leave town; his family is comfortable here and my memory is that they have to make some pretty significant accommodations for his daughter and that those have been made. I don't think he wants to uproot.

But 610 would welcome him with open arms. Afterall, the Chiefs would have to go somewhere and that somewhere would be 610. Petro would be even more liked by the Chiefs and their people after this. He already seems quite popular with them.

And 810 would just crater. Kietzman doesn't have the energy to carry a station these days and he's not going to 'groom' a new mid-day guy. He's not going to get in the trenches and rebuild from the ground up. At that point, as an owner, he'd pull himself from the air to salvage his investment. He's an idiot and lacks any semblance of self-awareness, but he knows what keeps his roof over his head and if 810 goes tits up, it takes him with it. He'll set his pride aside for his livelihood at that point.

The Chiefs have Kietzman's balls in there hands here and could crush them if they wanted to. I'm curious to see what happens.

If the Chiefs cut out WHB in order to get Kk fired, like many of you want, that's some shitty behavior on their part. And if you're smart, you wouldn't condone it.

IN THEORY, you would want a media outlet that would give news and opinion in an honest way--warts and all--even if it means you hear bad and mean things about your sports team. When the Chiefs suck, you're happy to hear that stuff, and join in. Now as contenders, there's outrage whenever someone says anything critical or isnt properly worshipping the team.

I dont like Kk and think what he said was irrelevant, shitty, and a cheap shot. But you shouldnt want the entity being covered to call the shots on who gets to cover it. Cut out Kk...that's one thing...leave it up to the players if they want to talk to him. Cut out the whole organization because an employee said something offensive? That's dumb.

The funny thing is KK has said multiple times that the Chiefs cannot keep Hill because of the optics and how bad it would look having press conferences with that hanging over.

How bad would those press conferences look when KK is asking Reid questions? Or interviewing Mahomes?

I don't care if Keitzman gets fired. In fact, I'd be rather shocked if he gets forced out, but I wholeheartedly support the Chiefs not eating the shit of a loudmouth local radio asshole who's seemingly trying to pump up his station's numbers by invoking the "failed" parenting of their head coach whom is beloved and respected by the players and the fan base. Kevin has the right to say what he wants on his radio station, but the Chiefs have the right to tell 810 to get ****ed because of it. And if KK loses his standing or job, well, who does he have to blame for that?

Chiefs fans, understandably, are so battered that they think the walls are going to cave in on them at any moment. Many of them believe mean radio DJs and TV talking heads or social media newspaper correspondents are going to drive the star players/coaches away from an excellent situation where they can make their careers and win rings, as crazy as that is.

As we saw with the Tyreek Hill situation, most people just want to hear an echo of what they already think or what they want to believe is true. If they are optimistic they want to hear nothing but homerism. If they are down on the team, anyone who says otherwise is just a blind homer.

I could see myself being more sympathetic to Kietzman if I wasn't a KU fan.

Like the time he said on the radio that Josh Jackson sexually assaulted a woman (as opposed to a bumper) or that KU players gang raped an underage girl in their dorm while smoking crack.

I doubt KK is going to be fired since he is a part owner in the station, but I voted to run his ass out of town. I've said this before and I'll repeat it now, I'm a big fan of the 1st Amendment. While you can't yell fire in a crowded theater, everyone has a right to express his or her opinion, no matter how offensive it might be to me. But KK's commentary stepped over the line of good taste and for that he must pay. I, too, have written notes to his sponsors and will never listen to his show. Tune him out, make him a non-entity. Money talks, BS walks.

I would call the way the Chiefs handled Kareem Hunt a failure.

Call his sponsors and tell them you wont support their businesses if they continue to advertise on his show. If they hear that a few dozen times I am sure the seed will at least be planted to spend ad dollars elsewhere.
