Honestly down 5 feels like a win. Hope they miss some threes for once and we have a chance.

What is clear now is that the average college basketball player makes open 3s at a higher percentage than they have for all of Self's career.

His strategy of helping off ball on D, trading an easier 3 for a tougher two has been very successful for him. Players in the Big XII are finally good enough to make that %age gamble not as good of a bet. It's the only explanation I can think of to explain why so many of these pudwacker teams make traditionally unsustainable % and volume from 3.

Combine this with the transfer portal not allowing us to have Jamari Traylors, Travis Relefords, Marcus Garretts, Mitch LIghtfoots and so forth hang around past one season, where they can provide continuity and cohesiveness to the defense.

He's going to need to mix something else in more frequently than he is now.

Guarding their 3PT shooters in 2nd half would be helpful too. I counted multiple times that both KJ and Furphy just fell asleep on high percentage guys.

SithCeNTz is right then. How do you change a scoring play where if they had called it properly live, leads to live ball action. Maybe KU gets a follow dunk, or the ball gets kicked out for 3 or any number of other outcomes.

At least reviewing whether something was a 3 or a 2, or who the ball was off of, or a foul call, the result after the play is a dead ball.

Agreed. I think the reviews are fine (if you’re gonna do them) but they need to be done immediately on the call and not retroactively minutes later.
