Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

That guy in the video was pretty funny but I am still excited to play this game. I have only really played BF2 and played it religiously and camping isn't to bad.

I know this would piss people off but maybe a good idea to level out the teams and stop camping would be to limit how many of each class could be played on each side.

There is supposedly something going on with the XBox version...they are supposedly working on it.

Tried it. Hated it. Deleted it. I only got killed by a couple bushwookies but what pissed me off was getting killed in that darkass subway station, people would find a dark corner (there are hundreds of dark corners to choose from) and NEVER move, I couldn't even see them.

The gunfights in BF3 don't feel as crisp as the gunfights in COD. I don't get the hype around this game.

Yeah I only got into a couple where we both saw each other. This game kind of reminds me of Homefront because I never see who kills me 90% of the time.

I could have told you last year that this wasn't a game for you. The other team doesn't just run out in front of you - if they do, they die.
