Alex Smith is a solid QB, sorry haters. Bucs win 5th game in a row.

Despite the common thought here that Alex Smith held down the team Sunday, Smith's overall production to the team yesterday graded out very positive in 3 rankings:
Smith: QBR 94.1, QB rating 99, PFF 71.9
Winston: QBR 83.6, QB rating 97, PFF 50.7

https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro...-for-bucs-win/

"Smith gained positive expected points (EPA) on 77 percent of his plays on Sunday, the second-highest rate for a QB in a game this season (Dak Prescott, 83 percent versus Chicago in Week 3). Put simply, more than three-fourths of his plays contributed to the team’s scoring margin, given the context and situation." - http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/p...s-excels-again

This is why we should use our brains instead of repeating the garbage fed to us by Mellinger and Teicher. If Smith only had 34 plays yesterday to do something with the ball and earns both a rushing and passing TD, a FG, to 1 INT (first red zone interception since 2013) and completes an outstanding 77% of passes ... we should probably focus on the real problem yesterday: The Defense. Who didn't show up and allowed Winston/Martin to hold the ball for 35 minutes, earn 24 first downs, and convert 68% of 3rd downs (league average is 40%).

Against the Bucs...

Alex Smith: 1 INT, 99 QB rating
Philip Rivers: 2 INTs, 80 QB rating
Russell Wilson: 2 INTs, 39 QB rating
Drew Brees: 3 INTs, 49 QB rating

Pest is just posting for Clay and also wishing injury to Smith, pretty much bannable offenses if you read the TOS. Just saying...

Just let it go. The decision to not throw that EZ pass out of bounds was awful.. but otherwise and like the majority of games.. Smith was low on the list of problems for KC.

**** it.. it's done. Moving on to Thursday. They need to handle their business this night.

( if the refs don't **** em over and all.. filthy, corrupt NFL that it is )

So you're saying you know more than 3 measures: QB rating, QBR, and PFF?

You one of those FanSide "writers/contributors" trying to find some cred?

The entire team lost, including Alex. There is plenty of blame to go around.

Offense only put up 17 points on an average Bucs D at home. Alex threw a bad interception in the end zone. I do not care what Reid says, that pass was bad and was on Alex.

Chiefs defense failed to stop the Bucs on 3rd down and failed to get any QB pressure despite the Bucs having a below average offensive line.

Andy Reid could not call a good play to save his ****ing life. Got cute on 1st and Goal on the first drive of the game and cost us a TD...points that would have be nice to have in the 4th qtr.

What does that even mean? Are you really putting your idiocy on full display? The goal is to NOT be like SNR. You have it completely backwards.

Idiot.

Common sense, not so common.
I like how the TD is on the defense only when Smith's INT spotted the Bucs 55 yards of field position. I also like how when the Chiefs win we can't look at Smith's stats, it's just about W's. Then the Chiefs lose, hey lets look at Smith's stats.

Alex will always be high in the total QBR bc his comp % is high from mostly checkdowns and he never takes risks to turn the ball over.

He's scored 2 TD's in his last 14 quarters. Decline
