The Chiefs are giving Tardif a 5-year, 41 million dollar contract

WTF. He's average at best. What a waste of money.

There are plenty of articles that provide the full story.

Breer, Jason Cole, Mellinger, Paylor, etc. and so on.

I've never been on the tardif bandwagon and there is still something about him I just don't like....or more accurately trust.

When it comes to Chiefs players I guess I'd gladly be wrong and have one turn out awesome.

In this case, he's playing alright, but I wonder if his lack of pressure is more a testament to him or picking in the other side and outside rush?

Chiefs’ Laurent Duvernay-Tardif has taken another step forward

Let’s look at the numbers than talk about what LDT did against the Eagles.

I cannot state this strongly enough: LDT was absolutely fantastic against the Eagles. He was the best offensive lineman on the field for Kansas City (even better than my guy Mitch Morse, due to a couple of losses Morse took in pass protection).

Like I indicated before, a loss percentage below 10 percent is acceptable to me as an average. Against good competition I expect that number to climb a bit. LDT posted a phenomenal 5.7 percent loss percentage, which would be great against even a bad team. Against a front like the Eagles? That’s unreal.

I think Witzmann will be better as the season progresses but it would be nice if Ehinger could come back and beat him out at the position.

But considering he's been inactive, it might be a while before he's able to challenge for the position.

Yeah I think they'll keep him out as long as they can until he's fully ready to go

They way things are going in Indy we might be able to get Ballard back.

I know its early, but I really think Veach is the right guy. I've not been impressed with Ballard in Indy, I know its not an ideal situation, but damn what a mess. I really like what Veach did with Ragland and Erving. We get Ragland for two more years on his rookie deal, and Erving one. When you are positioning the team for super bowls finding young talent on the cheap is necessary. Especially as we straighten out our cap.

Erving was drafted in 2015. The Chiefs have two more years on his rookie deal and the 5th year option.

Ragland was drafted in 2016. His rookie deal won't expire until after the 2019 season.

Those articles give a picture of a GM and an Owner who didn't see eye to eye on many things.

I honestly don't see what difference it makes though if you have all the details, he is gone and that's that.

Do we get the option years? Granted I was looking at over the cap and not the Sportrac, if so its even better.
