They got a bit lucky with all the missed FTs (although Dickinson has completely forgotten how to shoot for a month now), but BYU played this group about as well as they could have too. They just had all their guys stay in the paint all game because they know we can't shoot from the perimeter. It's really how all teams should play us.

I'm trying to think of a Bill Self team that has done less with more, or at least what we all thought was "more" going into the season, and I'm coming up with zilch. This team just hasn't ever found "it" all damn year. With all the expectations coming into this season, this might be the least fun and most frustrating Bill Self team I've watched.

It has the least depth of any KU team in his entire time here and that was even when they had one of the best players in the country actually healthy and playing.

These results are predictable. This team has always been about waiting and seeing what they can do in the tournament (with hopefully all of their starters out there; if not...yikes).

Correct, but that's not at all how I think anyone envisioned this season going back in November. Hell, I thought this team had a good chance to be legit 8-9 guys deep. Nope. It's been barely 3-4 most nights.

Well that was before Timberlake was exposed as being one of the biggest fraud transfers in the history of the NCAA (and if you go a little bit further back, when another better transfer was exposed as a rapist and kicked out of the program). Elmarko being awful didn't help matters either, but that's gonna happen with freshmen from time to time.

I've wondered for weeks how they've stuck around in the top 10 (because they're Kansas, obviously). Kenpom seems far more accurate, right there with BYU in the top 20.

Beating 3 of the top 4 teams in the country will keep a team there. Looking much more like a #3 seed than a #2 seed at this point though.
