That and we expected Harris and KJ to take a step forward this season and they just haven't. Late last year Harris was making me look silly for comparing him to Alex Smith, but he hasn't carried any of that over to this year. Even a step forward situationally would be big: he's always been one of the worst guards in the Self era in end of half situations and...he still is today. No progress whatsoever.

KJ needed to learn a jump shot and at least be respectable to keep the defense honest. Instead he's still a FT liability late in games and a drag on the offensive end. His rebounding was good for four games and has gone right back to being terrible. Both he and Harris should be good role players off the bench, instead they are counted on to carry us which is causing issues.

Went to the game last night. The atmosphere was fairly muted most of the game. I have a feeling that both the fans and players overlooked this game. Like how are you going to leave a pasty white dude wearing a headband wide open all night. You know that mother****er will bury those. Another surprising thing about the game is how physical BYU was. Our players across the board were way more physically gifted, but BYU came in, shat on the floor, and ate our food. I can't count how many times our players hit the deck. Just soft as charmin.

Self said he thinks McCullar is doing better and says that he hopes they can get him back. As for this weekend, he said McCullar would only play Saturday at Baylor if he practices full-speed today and tomorrow. If not, he won't play. #KUbball

Self pressuring him to play through the media seemingly worked. Not sure why this couldn't have waited at least another week though.

I agree. We aren't winning the league. Let him fully rest, keep him bubble wrapped. Get him some reps during the Big XII tournament to get back into shape and ready for the real deal.

Self going to a KJ and 4 bench lineup is hilarious. Why is McCullar even playing if Self doesn’t want to take the game seriously either?

Self won the battle unfortunately in getting him to play meaningless games for no real reason.
