Top 10: Regrettable NFL Offseason Decisions

No.1 - Kansas City Chiefs trade for Matt Cassel

A silent alarm should have sounded for the Chiefs when the New England Patriots sold off “franchise” Matt Cassel for such a cheap price. Getting good value from Bill Belichick is like getting a good deal from a greasy used-car salesman: you’re lucky if you get what you pay for.

Cassel looked shiny and nice while he was on Belichick’s lot, but so have many players. Belichick makes his squad into overachievers and then sells high, only to see his parts fail elsewhere. See: Deion Branch, David Givens and Ty Law.

The Chiefs also signed Cassel to the richest contract in franchise history before he even played a snap, which may have been premature. A simple six-month test drive wouldn’t have hurt.

He has ”bust” written all over him and his early struggles in training camp are just the early evidence that the Chiefs got a lemon.

I don't think you have your facts correct. I posted 100 times here before bringing up Babin in the correct forum, the forum on the record of one Scott Pioli...

Like it or not, he is part of Pioli's record here, and at least one poster in real time was here trying to prevent the Chiefs from once again harming themselves...

Clearly, TFG saw something in Babin. Three years later, TFG looks pretty smart, and you look, well...

It's a good throw.

I wish he could do it consistently.

"wanting so much to have a good QB we can talk ourselves into believing anything."

Indeed, perhaps the problem is TALKING, not WATCHING...

WATCHING THE CHIEFS allowed TFG to notice Babin... but apparently nobody else noticed, because they were talking...

How exactly were you trying to prevent the Chiefs from once again harming themselves?

By pissing and moaning on an internet BB?
I'm pretty sure Pioli doesn't come here, otherwise we'd have polls to pick the players.

I could see it now. A poll on cp used to pick next years starter with the options of Orton, Cassell, and Gaz.
