I’m not gonna shed tears over Mr. neurtalzonederp. Houston sucked to lose but he wouldn’t take a pay cut and that’s business.

People thinking our pass rush is going to go to shit are acting like Chris Jones died.

He’s going into a contract year and is the second best interior pass rusher in the league. Our pass rush will absolutely take a hit, but we have Jones and we’re clealry not done.

I'm happy with this because:

1. Ford had a back injury.
2. Ford had one good season out of 5 years.
3. Ford is only a one trick pony.
4. Ford is glass.
5. Ford isn't really a 4-3 Edge. If he was, he'd be undersized at that. Bad scheme fit.

Also, Ford was a 1st rounder, 23rd pick. Getting a 2nd rounder out of him, that's a good return.

Plus the 3rd rounder would be for the next year so its valued like a 4th round pick. Plus we get back the 15 million so we can get more players or hopefully give it to Hill.
If we are so concerned about paying players that are injury prone then why did we throw big money to Watkins and Mathieu, both of whom play much less valuable positions.

And remember Veach drafted Speaks. Doesn't really inspire confidence in his ability to evaluate pass rushers.

Multiple all pro corner that leads the league in turnovers his first 3 years...traded for peanuts

Pro bowl pass rusher coming off a year he lead the league in pressures and forced fumbles while also getting 13 sacks...more peanuts

Couldn’t trade Houston for peanuts, even.

Won’t cut Berry

Overpaid considerably for Watkins and Mathieu

I know it’s a small sample size, but’s starting to look like Veach is getting schooled on everything a G.M. does besides scout talent.

Right now, he looks like the poster child for a contract year performance.

FAX
And this year would have been a contract year also if we didn't trade him so...

Yeah I don't get the complaints and I'm the salty bitch who's never satisfied with anything Veach does lmao.

He got a 2nd which is the minimum return we wanted. It's clear the market wasn't there for Ford and our options were a 3rd this year or a 2nd next year. He picked the highest of the two options and with a comp pick return it really looks pretty ****ing good now.

Crazy though but the new DC may not see a good fit for Ford in the scheme, he is one player, and not a level of player you change your scheme for.

Other than Bell, the best players in FA are pretty much gone. So Veach better trade for a star to make this worth it.
