Peacock exclusive playoff game is stupid

Bad move by the league. Quit being greedy and keeping your customers from watching your product.

Surely they wont put Mahomes in that game but who knows.

Why have 50,000 people paying for ticketss to see the game when you can have 5 million? In a few years the NFL will be PPV and it'll cost as much as the cheap tickets in the stadium. They are already on the slippery slope and are picking up speed. Just like $300 tickets at the stadium, a few folks can't/won't pay that much but there will others that will gladly take their seat.

I can have Peacock Premium for 3 a month plus tax. mighty white of them to give me a discount since I already pay for Xfinity internet.

Still not sure if it is worth it. I have a premium login that I can use Sat.

I have evolved as the need has increased to having three antennas of high quality going now.
One for the Firetv recast box, one for the guest bedrooms and one for mine and the Mrs. sets.
The more sets you have hooked up to an antenna, the more the division of signal strength

I went the route with amplifiers and pole rotators. but that ended up sucking. Had one with rotation built in, but it is now on a shelf in the garage as it was a POS.

Granted, even with 23 channels received, there is no Netflix, Amazon, Max etc., we still have to stream those. But the Mrs. gets her network programs and there is a lot of interesting, fun programming, like 2 1/2 men reruns.
Watching programming over antenna, gives me a feeling like I am getting something free. After paying,(a rough guess of) $50,000 over 45 years to Cox cable, DTV and Dish, I have been conditioned to pay for it. Back in the day, everyone used antenna and you had 3 or 4 channel choices, but now we have 23 and that isn't enough.

It is probably only a matter of time, like Toyota is going to do with their car dealers, local stations and their broadcasts being eliminated.

Will the game be on Sunday Ticket through You Tube TV if you already paid for the package? Or do you still need a Peacock subscription?

Playoffs have never been a part of Sunday Ticket - you'll need the Cock.

THIS! You can't stop change.

A huge corporation has obviously made a decision that it knows will piss off some of its customers. Why would a business piss off a good % of its customers? The only reason would be that they see even more money to be made going down this path even if they lose some existing customers.

The NFL would have done this earlier but broadband wasn't available in enough parts of the country to make it economically feasible. They have obviously decided that broadband has reached enough customers that this is now economically feasible.

I understand that some of this is driven by the principle of not wanting the NFL to move to this kind of model and that some of it is not wanting to sign up for a subscription.

What I don't understand is how either of those convictions is so firm that you wouldn't just bite the bullet. The time, money, and effort required to sign up, pay $6, and cancel it is minimal compared to sharing with a friend (and probably getting booted right when they game starts when they restrict multiple streams based on IPs), using your child's college discount, dealing with unreliable pirate streams, going to a sports bar, listening on the radio, or not watching it altogether.

My priority #1 is being able to watch Mahomes and Kelce in a playoff game, with a reliable stream, and without any hassles. I'd feel differently about it if this were the Packers and Cowboys game that I don't really care about, but that's not the situation.

As it is, they kind of have us by the balls, and $6 just isn't worth the battle to me.

For me it's not about the 6 bucks. At all.
I just hate the fact that in order to watch a single NFL game, I have to sign up for a streaming service I don't want or need, and then cancel it when the game is over. It just feels sleazy to me.

If the NFL came out with an al-la-carte service that allowed you to pick and and choose from every game, each week, that they stream on a 'Reliable' platform and charged $20.00 per game (or whatever amount) I would be fine with it.

Now get off of my lawn!
