Mike Oliver, who coached the five-star recruit in Chicago at Curie High School, told Yahoo Sports Thursday that he visited Alexander Feb. 21 when the Jayhawks played TCU and was concerned.

"I knew something wasn't right," Oliver said. "He just wasn't Cliff."

A week later, Alexander was sidelined with what the school termed an "NCAA issue." Kansas has not commented on the nature of the issue, but sources confirmed to Yahoo Sports that it is agent-related.

So I read somewhere that it is taking so long because the family hired a lawyer. Pretty sure I read it on here.

My question is, if he's bolting (not really if because he is), why the lawyer? The only reason I can see for making a big deal about it is if he intends to keep his collegiate eligibility.

I'm quite certain I'm wrong but that's the way I see it.

Well, I'm sure that sitting the rest of the year doesn't help his draft stock the way dominating in the Final Four would.

yeah, it's unfortunate if a player suffers from a family member being a dumbass......BUT....for obvious reasons, this would be an easy work-around to funnel money/gifts to a player (if family members were able to receive stuff from agents, etc.).

Which is exactly what should be happening. When Self get's 5 mil per year yet a player and his family get the worlds worst binding contract with a mandatory work-for-free clause than there's clearly something broken with the system. Hardly any player that went early to the league made less than ten million dollars yet we're expecting these kids to sit back and allow ivory tower universities exclusive rights 100% of the money in exchange for what's rapidly becoming a worthless piece of paper (degree's).

Look I get the argument. But let's not act like it's work for free. They get a free education. That can be $25K-$40K per year. That could amount to as much as $200K (if redshirt). And let's face it. Most players do not play professionally.
