Ole Miss doesn't run an offense that comes remotely close to anything an NFL team does, it's basically a spread run scheme.

That eliminates 85% of college offenses from first year contributions at hte NFL level.

Not really true, most guys are asked to do things NFL teams will expect, then there are some schemes that ask like 10%, Mingo and AT Perry are coming from schemes that are about as far removed from what they'll be asked to do in the NFL as it gets.

Lol completely forgot about that guy. I read that as Jahan Dotson (probably because you've been mentioning him lately).

If you have about 25 minutes, you should watch this. Mingo does a lot of stuff the Chiefs asked JJSS to do.

He runs slants and digs and outs etc. Quit frankly he does quite a bit more NFL type shit than a lot of these receivers. He makes a lot of his plays within 15 yards of the LoS. He's not running free in the secondary like a lot of college receivers. He has to work to get his catches.

He's probably one of the most NFL ready WR's in the draft in terms of what he's already shown us. He doesn't get great separation, which would be my concern. But he tests like a guy who could/should.

It hasn't seemed to really effect the guys that are drafted from those places particularly, if they're drafted high.

The worst things people say about Hyatt I think apply more concretely to Johnston.

I said it in the draft thread, but I really never understood the 'consensus #1 WR' talk and his combine/workout performances have only supported that confusion.

I don't know if he's even a 1st round caliber guy at this point. There are REAL issues with his game.

Give me a receiver you think has been really good right away that came out of a system that didn't ask him to do NFL things.

I'm not saying Mingo can't be good, I'm saying there's a ton of work there.

Man, I get that there are concerns, but I'd still take him at 31 personally.

Johnston also was surrounded by a worse crop of talent with a worse QB...Hyatt had NFL talent all over the field, Johnston not so much.

I'll also say this, if you watch it Hyatt has free releases all over the place and is given that from the scheme, Johnston is just expected to lineup and win.
