49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

You're making excuses... Alex will never have a better season then Cassell did so therefore his ceiling IS Matt Cassell.

I want a young QB as bad as anyone but Geno does have some flaws. Every QB in this draft does. Geno is the best of the bunch. But is he light years ahead I 'm not sure. I know right now A.Smith is better then Cassel by quite a bit. We have improved our QB situation immensely. We have to draft a talented young QB to back him up I hope it is Geno, but I would still take EJ Manuel if possible. But Alex Smith is far better then Cassel not even comparable sorry just sayin.

It's called being smart.

How do you know they won't take a developmental guy? Or wait until there is a QB they really feel confident in drafting?

The people who are demanding that we draft a QB this year simply because we have the 1st pick are going to look foolish in years to come.

More excuses. Teams were focusing more on Gore then Smith's 180YPG passing attack in San Fran.
