We may as well have an easy point of reference for people to be able to come back and eat their crow when this all pans out. Everyone always says I knew it all along. Step up and put it down.

I don't think a 2nd round pick is terrible, but I don't think Matt Cassel will pan out in KC. I'll put it down right here, right now. And now I'll start praying I'm wrong.

Forget the trade. The only thing I want you to commit too is whether or not Cassel is a good or bad choice for QBOTF.

The fact is Cassel stepped into a record breaking offense that had come off an 18-1 season and couldn't muster 22 TD passes. Thigpen inherited one of the league's most anemic offenses (4-12 season), a new O/C, a rookie OLT and many other rookies and yet his stats almost match Cassel's.

That is more than a boxscore, that is just a plain NFL football fact. And Cassel will cost $80 million over the long haul while Thigpen is playing for the league minimum. Meanwhile, KC has the league's most pathetic defense and invests a mint in a backup QB. Nice.

I don't know how anyone who propped up Grbac for years can have anything to complain about with Cassel, who has already accomplished as much as Trent Green had before he came to KC. This is clearly a boom or bust move, but to act like Cassel didn't show anything, or dogging him because he didn't play as well as a HOF quarterback last year is kind of dumb.

The Chiefs have 57 million in cap space. I'm sure they should have looked at the cost benefit with Thigpen.

While you're at it, why don't you dig up 2nd half stats for me too. How about game-winning drives?

Maybe you can show me how Thigpen is better than Cassel to in those regards.

If you can't see how any person who has served in military and has come home and had to deal with problems from war would find this disrespectful, you really need to take another look and humble yourself and be careful what you say. There is no reason to go there. Leave it alone.
