. I wouldn't let Pioli--let's be honest, everything is about Pioli when it comes to the Chiefs, and thus the coaches don't matter--watch my dogs.

I don't really care. Coaching makes the team, but it rarely can account for deficiencies in the player. Unless you're Jim Harbaugh, the QB that gets drafted is either going to be really good or really terrible.

Great QB's carry shit HC's all the damn time. I can't really recall seeing the opposite. I can't wait till Brady retires. I wanna see how good Belichick REALLY is.

He is smart. He will retire, and later come back as a GM or President of football operation somewhere else.

Some people might make the case of Andy Reid, but even then that's not really all that strong of an example. And agreed about the Patriots. Bill is starting to look a bit old and crusty. He's put in a lot of years as an HC. I'm wondering if he doesn't just close up shop when Brady retires. I would hate that because I wouldn't get to see how he would do without his precious. Something tells me Ryan Mallett isn't a good long term answer for the team at all. |

I heard some Mitch Holthus on KK's show yesterday (I think). He was all Baghdad Bob spinning the season. "If we can win this game in Tampa, and we CAN win it, we get rested up a week. The defense is coming along. We play easier teams the rest of our schedule, the AFC West is wacky...we might be in the thick of this thing."
Yikes, and the Chiefs think the FANS are delusional???? |

This is like the business decision version of DT dying via car accident.
The franchise is lying in a hospital waiting for the blood clot. Candlelight vigil for our Chiefs?

I'm in on the vigil, but I'm going to keep pushing for a funeral.

Yeah, if this happens our only hope is a monumentally amazing QB comes along and saves us.
We need QB Jesus to save us from GM Satan.

Guys, you can inhale from the magic bong all you want, but Peyton Mannings don't come along very often.
What is far more common is a situation in which a young quarterback has to be developed ... acclimated ... for awhile. How many times have we seen quarterbacks with high potential eventually bust because they were improperly handled in the beginning? Sure, it's possible that you can strike gold with a rookie QB who requires no coaching or mentoring or assistance in making the adjustment to the NFL, but ... wow ... unlikely would be an understatement. Let's be realistic for a moment. It makes far more sense to install a coach who can help a young guy develop ... regardless of his initial talent level or skill ... than simply hope that we hit on a Manning. FAX |
