Let the guilt go for sure. It isn't about guilt. It is about choosing what you want in life more. That one meal won't sidetrack a whole diet. Every time you pick up the fork you have a chance to improve your lifestyle. The more times you choose right, the better. Just imagine if you were to choose the right meal even 75% of the time over the last five years. You would probably be in a lot different position right now. |

Had free pizza again today at lunch. Hit 2 pieces this time instead of 7 like last time. Went did some crossfit metcon stuff prior to IceApocalypse2010. Came home and went nuts on some chicken breasts and asparagus.

Silock can put his cock through 2 45# bells hold the tip and swirl 'em around. And I'm not sure what he ate tonight after working out, but I can assure you, it wasn't a Burrito Supreme. BTW I ate Andy Capps Hot Fries and water, but, I'm about to run now. Three miles on the tread, I guess.

best thing for you, almost factually,
baked chicken small portion of starch brocoli H20 Ensure (light) and rest. :edit: maybe some diluted cranberry in there, somewhere. Of course, I could be dated in my thinking, I should say, best thing for you when I was obsessive about it, were the above, but. anywho... 5 oz low-fat cheese, handful of raw pecans, 1 orange, 1 cup of raspberries I still "cheated" on my diet on Monday night. I had 2 cookies and a bit of cheese at this party. So, I skipped my bedtime snack. There's no reason you can't go out and enjoy yourself. You just have to make up for it later. It's not a big deal. Weekly calories. Besides, what's the point in having a good diet and looking great if you can't enjoy yourself? |

The key is to put the guilt past me. Its gonna happen, but Id like to apply a realistic approach here, and just think of putting it past me slowly. it'll happen with an abundance of discipline. Once the discipline is enough to overcome the barrier that cheat meal set for me, then that'll be sufficient to make me feel better about myself. I am striving to have a good body. The only way to do that is with the right diet. For the most part, I live by rules and restrictions, and enforce discipline into my life only to make me a better person. But I like to set myself free at times, this may sound weird to some, but I believe in energy. sometimes I believe if you get too caught up into your own patterns and routines and neglect the other aspects of life, it builds up tension, and that tension stores itself as negative energy inside your body, and as a result, you really don't live. So once in a while I think its okay to step aside and away from your own world, release the tension and be more open to life. You could do this by cheating on your diet, taking a break from the gym for week or 2 after long months of training, whatever. And you'd be surprised, once you get back to what you are doing, you come back stronger. its like working. i could use this analogy, If you work all the time without taking a break eventually you will crack. But if you take a break, you relieve yourself and feel more free and at ease, and you also feel just as strong, if not stronger to do your regular routine. I think that makes you a better person and I like to think of myself as a warrior in that sense. Just having that ability to say, "okay im gonna do this today, but, I promise to myself i will not do this again in 2 weeks!" To me that is self-contol. The backbone of discipline right there. |

Well, yesterday was a good day. Ate well all day, even when my wife had her once a month chocolate binge. In fact, I just went and grabbed a handful of almonds. I wasn't really hungry, and I don't like to eat just to eat.... but she was sitting next to me with a bag full of chocolate bars. (She only had two mini sized ones, but we were watching the mentalist and she just grabbed the bag on comercial)
Okay, did legs last night. Went pretty heavy for me. I was squating 225. I know that isn't huge, but as a working set, it pretty much did my legs in.... I even came home and took an ice bath... didn't help much. I can barely walk today. Good sign. Today is chest/triceps... my favorite day. |

I did my chest last night. I am not sore. Which means I didn't work hard enough. I take my oldest daughter every night so she can work out with me. Last night, I took my youngest daughter because my wife went to church for a ladies party.
I usually do my workout around 9:00pm Mon thru Thurs, and about 8:00pm on Friday because the gym closes at 9:00pm. Last night, I did it around 6:00pm and it was before dinner. My youngest doesn't really like hanging out in a pretty lame room with kids younger than her and she was hungry. The whole time, I felt guilty for being there. I did my usual sets and my usual weights, but I felt weaker. I think it was just a lack of focus and concentration. I was dissapointed to wake up today and not even feel any soreness anywhere. |

I weigh myself every morning. Sometimes I weigh my self several times per day. I work at home, and the scale is in my office bathroom. So, I just kind of monitor my weight all day.
I was a pound more than yesterday. Now, here is the thing. I am thinking about refusing to eat any solid food until I drop a pound below where I was yesterday. I know this sounds kind of odd. I will still drink plenty of water, and allow myself to have milk and protein shakes. But, no solid food. Actually, I am thinking about trying to do this for a full week. Similar to the velocity diet.... but without the 500.00 price tag or the four week committment. So, any thoughts? By the way, I know my weight will fluctuate. I am not worried about gaining weight. What I am trying to do is play mind games to push myself harder on the diet side. I am a 'goal' oriented kind of guy. So, if I say, I won't eat until the scale reads two lbs less, than I won't eat. And, I know that I won't suddenly pig out when the scale hits the magic number. Just a thought. Curious what other opinions of this might be. |

You'll get burned out doing that monitoring all day long, every day. I wouldn't even check the scale until it's been a week.

I just want to lose another 10lbs and really getting my six pack going. I can still see my upper abs pretty well, but I've got a bit of a belly right at the waistline and I have love handles. So, if I give myself little goals along the way, I think it will help me accelerate my weight loss. Half of this stuff, for me anyways, is mental. |

Well, you asked for opinions. I think it's stupid, but it sounds like you've already made up your mind lol
You're going to drive yourself crazy. What's the point of being fit and healthy if you are constantly obsessing about your weight? |

First, I really appreciate your insight. I love to get opinions from many places, especially from people that I find credible. But, that doesn't mean that I will just 'accept' those opinions as my own. I like to take opinions in, analyze them with my own facts, let them ruminate and then decide. Actually, I am undecided on how I am handling things, which is why I felt the need to justify my actions. Anyways, this is a way for me to think out loud. Thanks for your input. |
