Russ Lande says Chiefs should "stick to their board"

Geno Smith has all the tangibles - arm strength, accuracy, athleticism - and has a solid football IQ. He has poor mechanics and footwork. He's super raw and won't be ready to start right away, even in the shotgun NFL. Probably not worth a top 5 pick.

He sees Barkley are the flip side of the same coin - VERY polished, NFL-ready, but tangibles are average. Higher floor, lower ceiling. Would typically be a mid-1st guy (15-20).

He thinks Pioli is going to go with another late-rounder like Stanzi. And he hasn't once said he thinks that's the WRONG idea.

Sorry, I believe that Pioli is the root of all evil.

Haley comes out smelling like a rose. His shit smells like cinnamon rolls.

Pioli is the devil incarnate.

I've never wanted the Chiefs to lose a game in my life.

EVER.

I want Haley to push Pioli's shit in so far the his breath will smell like poop. I want the MNF audience to see Matt Cassel and Pioli's masterpiece on full display.

I want Pittsburg to break the record of 72 points scored. With Cassel starting, it is an actual possibility.

I want the full Pioli fail on display.

I hate him. I hate him SO BAD.

Ill probably get flamed for this, but...

JJs whole 2012 draft...Tony Romo and Brandon Carr for the top pick.

That would be just fine with me.

EDIT: but in this scenario we would NEED to acquire a quality veteran head coach and offensive coordinator that can instill some discipline in Romos game.

I think he can be borderline elite in that scenario.

And you say what I post is stupid!!???

**** that!! You could probably trade Baldwin for Carr straight up.

I'd take my chances with Barkley, Geno, et al over Tony Bono.

I mean Tony Romo.

He's supposedly borderline elite already.

He just throws picks at the worst time, can never seem to get his team over the hump.

We need to draft our own guy. I don't know who it is...

but we need to draft a QB, and someone other than Pioli needs to be in charge of it.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Dallas is slated to pick 12th at the moment.

With their whole draft and the rest of our picks, we could easily move back into position to take one of the top quarterbacks and would also have Tony Romo as well as having Carr back and a slew of other draft picks to help stabilize the rosters talent.

I think one of Matt Barkley, Geno Smith or Tyler Wilson will slip out of the top 5 and Id be happy with any of them.

That scenario also gets Brandon Carr back to help solidify our secondary again.

If that kind of fantasy deal was offered, it would be foolish to turn it down without thinking it over.

WTF?

Have you gone completely, utterly insane?

Romo?

Really?

Versus Geno or Barkley?

There was a reason the guy was a free agent and why he hasn't won dick despite a good team around him.

Love ya man, but this is completely ****ing deranged.

I severely doubt any team is gonna try to trade with us for a QB. You do that for generational talents, not QB's with question marks.

If we could get a coach that could get him to consistently give us years like 2009 or 2011, this team could quickly ascend.

I am a big Tony Romo fan and think he has gotten a bad rap due to a few plays when he wasnt playing diciplined football.

In 2009 he threw for 4500 yards, 26 tds and only 9 picks while averaging 8.5 YPA. Thats elite production.

If this team could get a few years of that kind of play or better while adding a slew of premium picks and a quality defensive starter...I wouldn't be mad if something like that happened.

Let me ask you a question.

Would you rather have

A) Geno Smith

B) Tony Romo, Tyler Wilson, Brandon Carr AND extra picks in the middle of every round?

I LOVE Geno Smith, but honestly I think the team might be better in the short and long term in scenario B.

It would be close and Id be torn with that option.

This isn't an either/or issue.

This team SHOULD be going after the best QB it can in free agency.
This team SHOULD be going after the best QB it can get in the draft.

Not one or the other - BOTH.

Yes. In a heartbeat. Middle round picks are middle round picks for a reason. And name how many free agent QB's have ever won a Super Bowl. I'm pretty sure that Romo isn't going to join that very exclusive list.

Quote:

No. A thousand times no.

Carr is good if he's playing opposite a guy like Flowers. But he gets torched a lot as well. We could potentially sit pat in the draft and end up with a substantially improved version of Carr in the second round - David Amerson.

All we need is a ****ing GM who can actually draft halfway decent. The multiple mid-round picks would be a waste IMO on this team.

We need a franchise QB. Period.

And then we need solid picks. The two third rounders we should have will be gold under a proper scouting department.

Sorry, but you would just be filling up on filler.

This team needs a true franchise level QB. I know you've seen the chart. Once a QB gets out of the first round, they have a long, steep road ahead of them in terms of a potential Super Bowl victory. The exception, not the norm. And, at this point, Romo has had his chances. They built a very good team around him and he shit the bed. No thanks.

Exactly.

And you don't give up a first in the first to get the free agent QB when you have your choice of potential franchise first round pick QB's.

Sac, what would be your top 3 coaching staffs you would want if we were in line to draft Geno Smith?

You know what Id love to see?

Bill Cowher HC
Chan Gailey OC
Ron Rivera DC

I thik that combo would be damn near perfect.

Your preference?

You are a dumbass because you believe in the pile of crap we have on this current roster. No coach can fix these ****s.

You are a homer in denial. This is one of the worst football teams ever.

Even if we have talent, they don't give a **** in general dude.

**** that shit.
