Offensive Tackles

I'm not going to overreact as it's only been 2 games but boy has their play has been meh at best. I'm not too worried about Taylor as I am Smith who looked like a declining player in Tampa. Everyone says it was because he was injured and maybe he still is but this has to get better if we're going to repeat as champs

I can't comprehend how you would let Donovan Smith walk in the offseason with how well he's playing. I get that you can't pay everyone, but there has to a reasonable 2-3 year deal somewhere they can reach. I am just so calm with him playing LT. I barely have to look at him, which is exactly what you want in the position.

Orlando Brown being gone makes me breathe a lot easier. Same with Wylie for that matter, but not as much as Brown being gone.

I agree, they should try to lock him up now before he plays himself into a huge contract.

Mahomes had time to make a sandwich in the pocket against Bosa and Mack yesterday. That would have been unthinkable with how they shredded our line in Week 2 last year.

Yeah and Mahomes looked like 2018 Mahomes and I don't think it's any coincidence that's the last time he had a decent pair of tackles.

Wylie does indeed blow goats. But he blew goats for us. In the Super Bowl, and didn't act a bitch about it. I remember Wylie more fondly than Brown. They were both ass, Brown was probably better than Wylie, but Brown thought he was Elite because the offense (Mahomes) was elite. Wylie just went to work for his guy and shut the hell up about everything. He got a better offer but seemed thankful for the shot. Brown thought it was him against the world.

Moreover, Wylie was the toughest guy on the field in the Super Bowl. It was interesting, I listened to a podcast after the Miami Philly game, and they talked about how when an team with good lines just comes at you all game long it wears good teams down. That's Philly's gameplan. And our OL, Wylie in particular did it to them. That salty ass bitch was ****ing finishing every block.

I'll always respect him for that. Dude was a menace in the Super Bowl.

He blows goats, but I appreciate him.

Both Bengals tackles are not only graded higher (subjective bs) overall and in pass block grade, they've also both given up less pressures than KC tackles, 26 to 45. Combined penalties? Chiefs lead 16 (3) to 2 (0).

But please wax poetic about how great they are at PBWR (useless and mis-named stat) when they're blocking for a guy that holds the ball longer than all but 5 QBs and just happens to be probably the 2nd or 3rd hardest QB to sack.

Fact of the matter is, your tackles are hot shit on a stick and it's only Mahomes magic that keeps them from being talked about that way.

The mess you find in cans behind your local Chinese restaurant is better than Smith and Taylor.

Too bad we can't play in that JV division, the AFC West.

Well with Brown as your LT you would definitely need an easier division but heck he couldn't handle this easy division of oppositional DE's so we let him go. Good luck with your so called tough AFC North division. By the way, has your organization EVER won a SB ? NOPE !!!!! By the way, how many SBs have you won in the last 5yrs? BIG ZIPPO !!!

You will hate Brown by the end of the season I assure you.

Interesting take; a little over a year ago, folks were talking about how incredible the AFC West was:

https://www.nfl.com/news/2022-nfl-se...ight-divisions

And/Or how it might have the greatest collections of QBs ever:

https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nf...son-derek-carr

But, yeah, a year later, it's JV. It certainly doesn't have world-beaters like the Browns and Titans.
