Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Geno has beat Buffalo and was gifted a game against Tampa Bay. Let's try and be realistic lol. He's been good for a rookie...most of him impressive throws (and they were impressive) were one read passes. He's been good for a rookie.

And yet you chose to dicard everything Geno has done thus far to win 2/3 to start his career with one of the worst rosters in football.

Since you guys like bringing up fantasy scenarios to take Geno down, if his receivers catch half the drops from the NE game, Geno is sitting at 3-0.

Receivers dropped 2 touchdowns in that game and he lost by 3.

You're wasting your time.

This place refuses to acknowledge promising young players from other teams. They get no benefit of the doubt, while our own get all the benefit of the doubt.

There's no way to tell for sure, but I have a hard time believing that this team would be any worse with Geno in the present day or near future, based on our weapons, the defense and what he's shown in 3 games surrounded by hot garbage.

Guess that makes me a bad fan.

I for one, have given the kid who shall not be named plenty of praise, he's looked very, very good on some of those throws... but I don't think that's what most "doubters" problem is.

Its the constant carping about what we DONT have, as opposed to what we DO have that rubs some people wrong.

Swore 15 minutes ago i'd stay out of this, but you in particular have me wondering just one thing... is there any, single one thing about this team you're happy about besides the defense?

3-0! isn't some panacea, there ARE holes in our game right now, Bowe not getting enough looks is at the top of my personal list, then throw in our invisible tight ends... but my question remains, is there anything at all you're pleased with right now?

Bull ****ing shit.

The only reason this thread exists is because the Chiefs passed on Geno. Where is the EJ love? He doesn't deserve a thread?

This fanbase is so dense... BOO ****ING HOO

Move on, already.

This isn't a discussion about a young QB.

It's more like pining.

GTFO out of the thread if you don't like it.

There's no thread about EJ because...he's inferior. Looked like GARBAGE against the Mighty Choco Thunder.

This is funny.

Asking me if there's anything I'm happy with OTHER than the defense, while mentioning some of the problems on offense I would have mentioned.

Right now, the defense is carrying the team.

Offensively, the playcalling has been terrible. We're not even trying to establish the run before the 4th quarter. When we do run early, it's out of the shotgun/pistol. We expect people to bite on play action when we haven't made any attempt to establish the run.

We have a QB that refuses to throw to someone even remotely covered. For all the shit Cassel got around here - and much of it from me, deservedly - he was willing to get Bowe the ball. That HAS to change.

So, if you're honestly going to ask what I'm happy with other than the defense, I guess the answer is that we're 3-0, and that ST and the kicking game has been solid.
