What is with people wanting the 69 year old guy who hasn't won a playoff game 20 years? Is it because they don't know of any other candidates?

I don't think he meant as HC.

More like team president.

A figurehead.

That would be an awful idea.

Marty knows nothing of running a franchise from top to bottom. He's never been an administrator. Hiring Marty would be a complete cluster****.

There are FAR better candidates to run the Chiefs than ****ing Marty.

Or, out of stupidity.. I think everybody in Indy who lived through last year knew what was going on. They'd not have been good or finished well either way, but 'the team' (perhaps not the players) didn't do anything to allow themselves, from an ownership or coaching level, to win many of those games. So after years of success I think most of their fans we OK with what appeared to be the larger plan. Compare that to here and way too many years of suckage and ownership that hasn't proven themselves to have any real football smarts, at least not enough to pull off a SuqForLuck (or RGIII for that matter), and you're not trusted to even suck enough to help yourself in the long term.

It's all in the game, even if it's the unspoken truth of real competitors. CHunt, no......he's just stupid...

See how bad Oakland is looking against of all teams Jacksonville? We will win one if not both of those games sadly. No way we go 1-15. I see us going 4-12.

The Raiders have owned the Chiefs lately. If the Chiefs continue to give up the ball 3-5 times per game and the secondary continues to break down, I don't see how they win another game.

I'd be very comfortable with this. If Marty is 69, I'm sure everyone including him knows he's too old to be a new hire at gm. I don't think he'd care if he was hired as a 1-year consultant.

Realize that we can't talk to the best candidates at gm until after the season. If you wait until January to fire pioli you lose a TON of useful scouting information after you fire him.

Marty does a lot of things. First of all, he is smart and experienced enough to help Clark make a better decision on the gm. Second of all, he can run the scouting operation so the next gm can easily transition. Most of all... He makes it easier to fire pioli now, which the chiefs hAVE to do now to stop the bleeding. If we start too late, we then have a late start on picking our next coach and getting the new gm prepared for the draft.

Vermiel was 60 years old and 14 years removed from the NFL - and won a SB when he came back.

I'm not advocating hiring Marty as HC, I'm just pointing out the flaw in your argument.

Marty's "consulting" resulted in Pioli in 2009. Furthermore, Marty would just hire Kurt to coach the team or his son. The guy exudes nepotism.

**** him and **** you.
