My pick is getting really close. I can tell because the photographers are all picking up their cameras and snuffing their cigarettes.

Let's say I don't select a kicker or punter and my remainder team doesn't have one. I assume it would be okay to say "I have two street free agents that are handling my kicking and punting". So my final roster would be 51 named players and 2 unnamed scrubs handling my kicking and punting duties. This is okay right?

It seems no different than if both your QBs went down and you had to start an off the street guy at that position. We can't pick up free agents from the wire so we just go with unnamed scrubs and bear the consequence. I may want to do this with my P and K.

You aren't the only one planning on doing that. I'm not drafting a punter. That will just go into my selection of my remainder team.

Yep, you can do that if you want. As an opponent, I will dub your scrub 'Lin', though.

As an aside, it occurs to me that after the remainder round and before the cuts to 53, there'll be teams with extra players on a temporary basis. I see no reason why teams can't trade among their 70+ players prior to making the cut to 53. So if some team had a drafted punter and a remainder punter, it is possible for another team to make a trade for one if so inclined.

I pick kind of late in the remainder draft. I don't want to have to choose between 3 teams with a punter, just so I have one. I also don't want to get bent over trading for a punter with some team that happened to have two punters because they drafted one and picked a remainder team with one. If I can get a punter off of waivers at the end of the season, that may work out good enough without costing me a valuable draft choice that can be used on a real football player.

As long as it was for someone I didn't think would ever contribute to my great team, that works fine.

The Choo-Choos will select one of the best blocking fullbacks in the NFL. He helped open up huge holes for Michael Turner in ATL last season and will open up huge holes for MJD, Pierre Thomas, and Jerome Harrison. The Choo-Choos select Ovie Mughelli, FB.

Round 28
