More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.

Like you said, not one team would have given a 2nd round pick to Peters if he was still under contract with the Rams.

We sold him while his value was high, and it burned the Rams as they found out why, for a 1 year rental.

Dee Ford's value is high right now. I would hedge my bets that once he gets his contract, he will revert to the norm, and his value will decline.

I think if we get a high-profile CB in FA it will be Patrick Peterson.

There are no reasons for the Jaguars to trade Ramsey this year, they end up with a ton of dead money when they can just tag and trade him next season. Peterson, on the other hand, can save the Cardinals $22mm in cap savings with almost no dead money.

I think what's being lost here is that KC staff know Dee Ford. They know him personally and professionally. They know his work habits and what he can do better than anyone. Spags probably watched every snap and said no and Andy agreed. He is a speed rusher only. That's not good enough when the defense is trash. We got what we could and waited as long as we could. We need the money and need it now.

I too don't think Ramsey is getting traded. They're in win now mode after signing Foles and I doubt they want to get rid of a top 5 corner.

It’s not by accident that Veach said give me the 2020 2nd over a 2019 3rd. He’s doing this with the long term in mind.

A year from now before the draft, cap space is going to be harder to come by with Mahomes, Hill, and Jones all paid huge deals. They will need all of the early cheap draft picks they can get.

It’s a great long term play.
