****Official Golf Thread****

The original Bushwood thread is overflowing like Craig Stadler's FUPA.

Use this thread to discuss tournaments, swing thoughts, equipment, and golf deals.

I thought we could also use the OP to create a WITB for ChiefsPlanet members. I'll list a poster's name and put their sticks in a spoiler tag, so you can see what everyone is carrying.

It's also mentally exhausting. You don't want to have to worry about finding the ball; it's hard enough to focus on executing a shot on courses like that to feel like you're in a rush to locate a ball.

Spieth literally is more likely to make a putt from outside 10' than inside 6'. It's like Steph Curry hitting 9/9 from 3 and going 5/9 from the line.

If he dunks it, the worst he's making is six, and even that is unlikely, as he can use the backstop behind the hole to run the pitch back by the hole. Still, I'd rather see a fat hook into the woods.

Greens like that are certainly truer to putt on because you don't have goose shit or bare patches of grass deflecting your ball.
All good points, but one day I'd love to play a round there. I have cousins who are avid golfers (to a fault as many in the family claim) who live in Seven lakes, NC and he made the trip to Augusta to play (I'm not sure how they got invited), and he said it was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience.

And yeah, he's stupid into it, he's got 5 weeks a year on Kiawah, and has connection to Edisto for when he's there, so him saying it was amazing is, well, all the more amazing. His son is (well was) a course Pro in Charlotte (not right now), and he's how my younger son got introduced to Skype as he takes the videos I send from the phone, and the other camera, and provides feedback from Winston-Salem, NC which is just cool. I'm not sure if it's as effective as cool, but when we're on the driving range, I'm send SloMo vids to him, and they're on the phone (Hangouts), it's very cool to say the least. All I know is a have a young man who's working very hard to earn a trip to NC and make a grand tour of some courses there with his cousins. And while they don't mess around, they live to work with youth golfers no matter who they are. All the charity work tey do with kids/golf, they sure do stay busy...

Hitting the shit into the hay is one thing, but when you're a few steps off the fairway and you can't find the ball or you don't have forecaddies it makes the game a hell of a lot harde.
Trust me, I don't need galleries to help me shank a ball! As for a caddies, I'm sure they'd quit by the 3rd hole! But I sure could benefit by having a gallery, I'd have more people to laugh with me at myself, and they could maybe tell me where my ball went, even if into the drink...
