Chiefs Falcons after Gonzalez - Page 27

The Falcons are reportedly interested in trading for Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez.
The National Football Post's Michael Lombardi says the Falcons are "seriously considering" the option, with their second-round pick as bait. Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt is attached to his franchise icon, but he might be convinced to part ways as the team rebuilds.

Atlanta has the 55th pick in the second. Maybe Jarron Gilbert or Paul Kruger although I'd rather see Tony stick it out here.

He still had a hell of a season on a God awful offense.
He can only improve and I believe he'll do just that.

Don't lose his talent in the drops. This kid is special.

And yet he's still the best WR we've had since the early 90's. He needs to work on his drops but he's a special player, no doubt about it.

Players have Zero loyalty to teams nowadays. I'm not sure I understand a fans' need for having loyalty towards a player, in today's age.

That doesn't include drops of on-sides kicks, either. Good player, could be great if he learns to hold on to the ball.

I think it's possible. My sense is that Gonzalez does not feel all that comfortable with the new regime in KC. And when you think about the offense from which new Chiefs GM Scott Pioli came in New England, the tight end simply didn't have that big of a pass-catching role. Gonzalez certainly knows that and wants to be on a team where is going to at least be among the top pass-catchers.
