Was about time honestly. Didn’t get a call for the entire game to that point, which allowed Samford to make the comeback they did. Our first five fouls of the 2nd half weren’t even fouls.

also on defense their hands were all over our players whenever we drove and never got called for it. Thats impeding the movement of the offensive player which is a textbook foul.

We got two fouls in the first 24 seconds
a guy ran into harris trying to intercept the ball and harris got called for the foul.

Anyway, if that game was called normally, we win by 15. And if we had any kind of playable bench to be able to handle that pace, we win by 30+. We got gassed midway through both halves of it and it was obvious. Any time Dickinson left the game we were just leaking points.

Fully anticipate Gonzaga will put an end to them in two day’s time, but crazier things have happened.

If KU loses (probably will) to Gonzaga, it’s just a shrug your shoulders Tournament. About what we expected and at least we didn’t have some memorable upset loss.

This year is obviously much more the exception than the rule with Self. Just so many things going wrong all in one year. In 20+ years at a school, it’s bound to happen a few times (kinda like 2019 or 2021).

Self turned 2019 into a team that absolutely could’ve won the tourney in 2020 and turned 2021 into a tourney champ in 2022.

Wouldn’t shock me to see us rebound in a major way. Especially if Dickinson and Furphy come back. Those two plus McNeeley would be a nice start with the incoming class we already have.

Dickinson should be back but would be very surprised if Furphy was. They need to resolve their shooting and depth issues in any case. If KJ and Harris are gonna start as well, the other two guys need to be great shooters to deal with that roster construction issue.
